Even though I was half expecting something like that, I still burst out laughing when I saw Steve Carell was worked in with it.

Re: FCB College Collector Group August Thread (Sign up today!)

Hey guys. Was in a pretty bad car wreck on Saturday. I race stock cars and this one was really bad. It was basically going from 70mph to 0mph in about 10 feet. Neck is still pretty sore and I have a bruise on my foot from smacking it into the floorboard. I was in the middle of the track in turns 3 and 4. A kid below me got tapped in the rear quarter panel and spun out in front of me. I had no where to go and less than half a second to hit the brakes. First, a picture of the car before the crash:

Now a few pics of the car in our shop on the frame machine.

Notice how the hood is folded over and the bumper is pushed waay back on the drivers side. Obviously, the fender and hood are scrap. Luckily, we have replacement parts ready to go on.

Notice the deformation of the left front rim.

Hit was so hard that it buckled the roof above my head

The floor buckled near my feet from the force of the impact. You can see the gas pedal on the left and the shifter on the right. I circled the damaged part. It's supposed to be pretty flat for the most part.

We worked on it all day today and will work on it all day tomorrow. Got to replace the lower and upper "A" arms, steering rack, rim/tire, hood, fender, radiator, hose, shroud, fan, belt, and a few other small things.

Luckily we do this type of work every day (it's our business) and we've fixed worse crashes than this. Hopefully will be up and running tomorrow night and we'll have the fine tuning done for Saturday.

Scalpem - let me know when the package arrives. I'll know you'll like it!

DANG tr! I hope you are OK after that! Did you get out and throw your helmet at the driver who caused the wreck...all Kyle Busch style?

Re: FCB College Collector Group August Thread (Sign up today!)

Right after the car stopped moving and my brain figured out what had happened. I shut off the electricity to the motor, undid my 5 point harness, dropped my window net, and climbed out. The kid that spun out (the one that I hit at 70mph) is one of my best friends. We live a few hours apart, but racing has made us pretty good friends. I walked over to his window, dropped his net and asked him if he was ok. After he said he was fine I said (in a half joking mood), "Well that's good, cuz your car is pretty ****** up.

After I did a full circle around my car and saw how torn up the front was I came semi-unglued. I took off my gloves and neckbrace - throwing them as hard as I could into the cockpit. Took off my $400 helmet and "gently" placed it in the car ;)

By that time the safety crew arrived on the scene (a little late, don'tcha think?). One of them made a smart ass comment to me and I almost had to kick his ass right there on the track. The exact words that came out of his mouth:

"Hey buddy, I think your fender is a little messed up". Now....this is NOT the right thing to say to a racecar driver after they were involved in a pretty big crash. The last thing I needed to be reminded of was how bad the fender was smashed when it's blatantly obvious.

I returned the comment (and these words were the actual words, not the ones that FCB provides for you ;) ) I got up in his face; and he is probably 30 years old and 6'4" 220lbs. I'm 16 years old, 5'10" @ 160lbs. You get the picture....

"No ******* **** you ******* *******. I can see the fender is ****** up you ******* retard." I know I said some more after that, but I was so pissed I can't really remember

My mom was in the stands and a lady behind her asked if I had a temper  I guess they saw me "gently place" my helmet inside my car and then have a calm, cool, collected conversation with the safety member ;)

All in all, 4 cars were totalled and mine had the LEAST amount of damage - hard to believe if you ask me. My friend, Tyler (driver of the car I hit) - his car had about the same damage as mine. We have an extra radiator and fan that won't fit our car, but will fit his, so I'm gonna give those to him next week. I know we'll be back to race and so will he, but the other two cars were REALLY bad. I don't have pics, but I wish I did. You can't even tell what make/model they are

Understood, but by not being around at all people are gonna be leery of sending to him.
