So I've made several trades on SCF now and today I just figured I'd go and see what kind of discourse goes on outside of the trade pages. The people here are great, and I just wanted to compare us to them. One of the first threads I stumbled upon reinforced my thinking about some of them. This is copied and pasted directly; I haven't made any changes to it at all.

I am really pumped about this by looking at teh preview cards tehy look really nice, 2 kinds, a horizontal type fold out, and a vertical type fold out. Cant wait till I see teh checklist casue they have Fouldouts for Veterans Autoed with 3 patches, and rookies have teh horizontal 2 jumbo patches signed on patch

Judging by this, I'd say the poster is about 12 years old. However, he's got a pretty nice PC. That says to me that either he's a kid with rich parents or he's an older guy who is just half retarded.
My money would go on the latter.

Not from ebays rules. If they are super cereal about it, they will relist after 24 hours and then refund you when you do pay. Then you can just neg them.

he's a noob with less than 30 feedbacks so a neg would destroy him at this point... i plan on paying by like thursday, but i usually never pay within a day even when the paypal is in my account

Not really. They can try, but if you bring ebay into it then they really can't. I bought something a while ago from an ebay seller by the name of dangelo13janeen. This was in the listing: "ALL PAYMENTS ARE DUE UPON COMPLETION OF AUCTION OTHERWISE ITEM IS RE LISTED." I was super close to not paying until maybe two days just to force the issue. He's even got a negative feedback that goes something like this:

????STOP???THIS???EBAYER???IS???NOT???RECOMMENDED???NEVER???SHIPPED???CARD????
Follow-up by glowgreen (Mar-14-10 10:51):
RUDE EBAYER, MAKES UP HIS OWN AUCTION RULES. DEMANDS $ IMMEDIATELY AFTER AUCTION
Reply by dangelo13janeen (Mar-16-10 11:06):
ITS MY AUCTION THEREFORE I SET UP AUCTION RULES ITS NOT MY FAULT YOU CANT READ

I was pretty sure that you were supposed to pay within 7 days, but it says on the 'how to pay on ebay' page that if you don't pay within 3 days that the seller can open a claim and try to make you pay.

Isn't the only way to make someone pay immediately to run a BIN auction?

2 things
1) those star feedback things are annoying as heck
2) i don't think most sellers realize they don't make the rules when it comes to that stuff lol

Yep. You can set a BIN to require immediate payment. If I'm not mistaken, this just lets the listing run until the money has been paid. So even if you commit to buy, if you don't pay right away somebody else can come behind you and take it.

Yep. When you hit teh BIN it comes up right away to pay. If you don't teh auction continues.

Jeez. Dumb sellers who think they make the rules, shady buyers who will neg you for no good reason, getting double charged by ebay and PayPal for the "convenience" of using their services...

Makes me wonder why anyone uses them at all.
