Man selling on ebay sucks anymore. I've opened more cases in the past month than I ever had. Its mostly guys with like 5000 feedback who won't pay for a .99 card. After like two weeks I open a case and tell them please just cancel the transaction so I don't get any fees and can relist. Then they pay ::facepalm::

Gettin old.

Got an email from eBay today telling me that we apparently get 5 free auction insertions every month starting next month. At first, this sounds like a deal. Really, it may be. Part of the email states The first 5 listings with no Insertion Fees will have a Final Value Fee of 8.75% of the sales price or $20, whichever is lower. Additional items sold during the same 30-day period will have the same Insertion Fees and Final Value Fees as they do today.

For items under $25 the current final value fee is 8.75%, just like this new thing. Under the old system, items closing between $25.01 and $1k are 8.75% of the initial $25.00 ($2.19), plus 3.50% of the remaining closing value balance. In order to get $20 in final value fees from the new system, your auction must end above $228.58. If you were to sell something at that price under the old system (let's say that you started your listing under $1) you would pay $9.32 plus a $0.15 insertion fee.

As a matter of fact, in order for this to be a good deal you would have to end your auction above $508.86, which would get you $20 in final listing fees using the 'old' system (in addition to your $0.15 listing fee.) Essentially, the only way you are getting a better deal than you do currently is if your auction ends below $25 or above $508.86.

The worst part is that it doesn't appear you can opt out unless you use an outside program to list your auction. Please keep in mind that your starting or reserve price affect your insertion fees and slightly adjust this deal.

We got issued new gas masks today, and you wouldn't believe how hard these dang things are to get together. Guess I'd rather have it be hard to get together than easy to fall apart though.
