Good morning.
I got some great news last evening; I'll be drawing up a webpage for a local business. I'm also hoping that I can turn this into a permanent job within their store. Not to mention he and his family own like 50% of our town and have a lot of other local businesses, so it could help me get into one of them.
My friend who works there called me and let me know he needed my assistance to put it together, and that he'd toss money my way. I managed to talk him into having me come into the store when the owner is there to go whatever I put together.
While I'm there, I'm going to bring up how his facebook page and ebay listings look unprofessional (in as polite of and indirect way as possible), and that I'd love to take over should the position ever open. The way the guy who runs it types makes them look like somebody selling junk out of a garage rather than a real clearance warehouse, because his posts/listings are always filled with errors like "if your a local" or "priced to sale", missing capitals/punctuation, he doesn't actively promote things via social media, etc.
The owner also doesn't think it's possible to get the site done by Monday, so I had my friend tell him I'll have it done Friday. Hopefully exceeding expectations helps me out as well. I'm kind of the corporate kiss-ass type and I give off a borderline cocky attitude, and it's always served me well before.
