I'm calling off today and seeing if I can get in the doctor's. I really messed my ankle up. I can't walk on it today, and I fell face first into my laundry room door when I went to get my work clothes.

I broke it in 05 and went 1 year with it like that because the doctors missed it. I broke it in another place, and they caught the first fracture too. I had surgery on it in late 06, and it's never been the same since. The doctors told me then I'd always have to watch what I did on it, and that I couldn't do simple things like play a pickup game of basketball ever again.

I've had good days and bad days with it ever since. It just gives out on me sometimes when I'm just standing on it, not even moving around the house.

I was supposed to be light duty with the Cambria County work crew (to catch up on fine payment), but they had me doing all this lifting/carrying and whatnot even though I kept telling them I shouldn't, and that it was hurting.

Now I have to worry that they're going to throw me in jail if I can't continue working.

I'm pretty sure my doc's going to put me on crutches. I'll see what he says when I get there though. I'd love to sue the ******* who kept ignoring me if any real permanent damage was done. You can't take something to the county judge though when two of them are the guys in charge of the system you'd be going against...especially when half of the higher ups are related with each other and to the judges.

It's really amazing to see how it's designed for people to fail and get caught in it so the county gets cheap labor. I'm going to keep track of every little crooked thing I find and turn it in to the local news station and/or newspaper and see if they'll look into it and expose anything. After, of course, I'm done with the program. I wouldn't want to risk doing anything to piss off the guys who can send me to jail.

End of rant :x

Yeah, you don't want to piss anyone off while you're still on "their watch", but it certainly sounds like there's some BS going there.

I'm pretty good. Always aced things dealing with poetry in school, including an elective poetry class I took, and did some with an after school creative writing group I joined to beef up my college application. I've been published before too.

What you need help with?

Does anybody think the "Rooney Rule" is ridiculous?

I understand that it's there so that "minority" candidates get an interview. But really, if a team is going to hire a black guy, they're going to do it. It just seems like a stupid rule that gives teams a chance to say "See? We did try somebody of color out for the job".

^ That thought comes from reading this :
The Washington Redskins have moved very fast in filling the void left by today's resignation of Vinny Cerrato.

Adam Schefter of ESPN is reporting that the Redskins have hired Bruce Allen as their executive vice president and general manager.

A press conference is expected this afternoon to make the hiring official.

It is not clear how the Redskins could hire Allen so quickly without running afoul of the league's Rooney Rule. The Redskins may have quietly interviewed a minority candidate, or they may have given Allen a title that doesn't require Rooney Rule compliance.

LOL

It is why should you have to interview someone of color? If thats the case then they should do that with every color. Brown, Yellow, Orange (people who fake tan) etc.

So since the majority of running backs are black should every team have to try out a white running back before they pick?

If I came up to you and asked if you wanted a soda, but gave it to somebody of another color isntead...and you found out that I only asked you so that I had a token -insert race here- guy...what would your thought process be?

Like Nate said - it's racist. Perhaps you could call it reverse racism. Whatever though, it singles somebody out based on the color of their skin...that's racist. Plus the rule isn't in place in other areas of the game when it comes to players.

Didn't want to clog up the other thread with this...

Something I DO have a problem with is the garbage that will throw together a "RIP Chris Henry" tshirt in photoshop and list it. That's disgraceful, sad, and a whole mess of negative words.

So are you saying I should take down the shirts I made and listed this morning?

Since the Racist...errr....Rooney Rule was on my mind, I had a bit of a laugh at this headline. If you don't get it, God bless your innocence.

"Dunn to become a minority owner of the Falcons"
