The shop is a joint venture between me and craftysouthpaw on the board.


we will also explore other aspects of the online hobby world, such as a separate online market place.

Congrats on the brick and mortar store. Just wondering why the online market place would need to be separate, wouldn't it get more traffic if it were tied to these boards? Hopefully you can get that up and running too sometime in the near future.

I was thinking the same thing. Going into competition with a sponsor? Definately raises my eyebrows...

All a sponsor pays for is the ad.

FCB can run just fine without any of them.

Doesn't that mean you will have to drop the sponsorship, or will you ask them to voluntarily withdrawal? Especially if you are considering internet sales.

I'm way out of the area, but IF I'm in ATL, I'll be there.Just wondering, what kind of center is it? A strip center, mall or stand-alone? I ran a very successful shop in a strip up until 4/09.

One thing we did that was getting to be very big before the parent Company closed us up was some Video Game tourneys tie-ins with a local GameStop-type store. Also, we did very good with gaming tourneys, no matter the stigma that comes with them. We did over $100K in comics a year too. Very under-rated business helper, with your main revenue coming mid-week, when other stuff is slow.

Yes, the deck is stacked against you, but we balance that with good local online advertizing and auxiliary products like magic the gathering and comic books.
