Please help me understand how this works folks! :D

If someone inquires about an item for sale then the next person who sees the item says I will take it.....do you give the first person the opportunity to respond?

The communication spanned 12 hours (inital to the last), that is why it is puzzling to me. I would have paid right away if I knew the way the seller thought process worked. Just wondering for the future.

12 hours is a long time....especially if it was during the day, even if it was overnight that is still really long. I would have moved on by then unless I got some other correspondence telling me you would not respond for that long.

Buying on a site like this is very different than something like eBay where you have an allowance for payment.

If I tell someone I'm buying, I'll pay asap...within the minutes.

I guess you are right. I inquired after midnight last night for the first time then I read the response at 8am, I guess they sold overnight. The seller wrote a lengthy email to me and never mentioned anyone else being interested. I thought I would have the opportunity today, I emailed him again this morning and they sold. I will have to much more aggressive in the future.

Payment was never an issue, I inquired about the condition and waited for a response.

Payment was never an issue, I inquired about the condition and waited for a response. Happened to me twice so far this week, I never buy any low end items since no one lists condition I feel I have to ask.

If I post a price, I would sell it to the first person who says "I'll take it for that price".

If you have been talking to the seller about the card, then it's a different situation, but it is so hard to sell on FCB already, so if someone is willing to buy, I usually don't hesitate to take it.
