In a way to help build another forum, FCB has decided that we should create some software.

We are proud to release FCB's very own TTM address database.

This is a limited release that may go up and down over the next few days depending on bug fixes and user requests. That said; speak up now about what you are looking for and complain often to get things changed.

Many sites that provide ttm databases like to charge you to see addresses, where as we only require forum registration. Just like everything else on this site, we will never ask you to pay or donate for services rendered.

I have spent about 400 hours scouring the net looking for addresses to put this up and from here on out it is up to you. If it is used, I will continue to improve it. If it is not, the functionality will disappear.

Thanks for your time and post your thoughts here.

NOTE***** If I delete your post, it isn't because I didn't like what you say, its because it will be easier for me to track and not have to rehash over the posts that I have already taken care of.

Re: FCB limited functionality release

Wow, this is very cool. Thanks for all your hard work putting this together Bouwob, i believe it will become a popular feature of FCB.

Just one thing i thought we could maybe add, current players team addresses? Unless i missed them somewhere?

Re: FCB limited functionality release

Once you change the catagory it can't be changed back.

That could become a problem.

What about adding a link to the database in the TTM/IP board?

When a player moves or dies (Joe DiGangi) is there a way for users to edit the info? or can only mods?

Re: FCB limited functionality release

Im just curious if any costs that ex-players charge should be/ are placed in the software. If so, that would be a great addition!

Re: FCB limited functionality release

What about multiple successes with the same player from one user?

I think what others are also suggesting is similar to what Sportscollectors.net uses, which lets you track date sent/received, where sent, number of cards, etc. for personal info and then that could be tied to each person, which helps others know if someone only signs one card, or signs all, time to receive, etc.

Great idea all around though. Good work!

Added a logger. It does not yest have the ability to note in your logs.

I'm adding stuff right now. I see that it only goes up to 99 days. I have several successes that were more than that.

If you get in less than 5 days or more than 99, people will get the picture.

I want to limit the amount of bandwidth used in counting to extreme numbers.

To be fair bouwob there are many guys that successes take a loooong time and +99 days (common with ST sending, common with in season sending) and +200 days (happens in both situations and also retired guys) is a big difference.

Do your thing, I'm not trying to break balls here; it's a nice addition. But if it's to be viable addition to the website ( I assume to increase traffic) it really should be as accurate as possible.

I'd also like to see a tab that shows latest successes and also when you click a players name, you can see clearly times of return.

A comments section (for fees, advice, ect) is very helpful.

My $0.02. I'll plug all my successes in either way to help out fellow members but it isn't *very* helpful in it's current state.

Ok I added my first success (danile schlereth) and I do see the comments sections so that's good.

Few more notes.

is it possible to "click" on a name and return to that players link instead of having to go back and search?

Also, I think all the TTM guys here would agree, the date sent and received is very important. Some guys sign in the fall, some in the spring.....ect. This should be clearly defined in the players link.

Again, not trying to harsh mellows here, and perhaps what i am saying will take to much bandwith up.....but in it's state right now....no one will use it as it *really* isn't any specific help.

Re: FCB limited functionality release

The days now count up to 500 by intervals of 5. If you use the logger, the system will calculate the number a days between the time you hit try and the time you submit feedback via the logger page. This will give you an unlimited number of days to choose from and do all the date math for you.

Also, since I am not digging for the post, at some point we will implement software to decommission addresses to keep the data current. With that, you will only be able to post a success once, as to keep people from signing up just to decommission the addresses. Everything is logged about what any one is doing in the software, but I want to keep myself from having to make db edits on a constant basis.

If you hit the try button and use the logger, you can submit more than one entry. This will make it a tad more difficult for people to sign up and decomission addresses because they feel like it.

Re: FCB limited functionality release

You can now add notes into your logger. This will allow you to keep track of what you sent out and provide better feedback when you receive back.

If you submit feedback for an address from the logger, it will transfer your notes to the feedback page.

Also, there are a few more changes that have been posted thus far, but they are running thin. If you are interested in making a difference in the ttm manager to fit your needs, please take some time to provide feedback.

When this thread dies and I run out of things to change, the book will be put on the shelf and it will become much more difficult to make changes within the system.

Can you make it so when someone reports a success or failure it tracks on a page that contains "most recent changes" by date. This way you could know which addresses are actively working without having to wade through all 5000 some addresses.
