Went on a shopping spree a little while ago and no mail was delivered Saturday due to a snowstorm, so a massive pile of mail arrived today. Just the highlights:

'90s goodness. The Giambi completes the Brilliants Gold/99 team set. Still don't have a single 24K, though! I overspent on the Canseco 1998 Platinum Medallion, but it's one of my favorite '90s parallel sets and you never know when the stuff will be available or when the well will go dry.

021621-2.jpg
Some nice early 2000s parallels. Trying to reduce my 2001-2005 Season Stat Line needs this year.

021621-3.jpg
SO happy to get the Rickey 2003 Topps Chrome Record Breakers bat card, I've been looking for it forever. The Canseco finishes off all 8 A's cards from 2001 Topps Gold Label Award Ceremony Relics. And I couldn't resist a nice Tejada A's patch 01/25 out of SP Game Patch, even if it says Baltimore Orioles along the top.

021621-4.jpg
Dustin Fowler is pretty much a certified dud at this point but I can't resist an A's Finest Superfractor for under $40. Speaking of duds, the Addison Russell Refractor auto cost me less than 1/4 of what I spent on his regular auto back in his prospect days...it usually pays to wait.

021621-5.jpg
I bought a lot that had a bunch of swag from Super Bowl XXXV, the one the Ravens won with Trent Dilfer as the QB. Most of it was silly stuff like tiny radios and seat cushions, but along with all of that were 2 ticket stubs. I did not have any of these previously. Might sell one of the pair some day, SB stubs fetch a little bit of money.

I'd been hunting the Brett Anderson 2011 Topps Silk for quite a while. The middle card is a "Factory Set Bonus" 38/75, I think it took Beckett a while to put these on their checklist so they've kind of flown under my radar. Manea was the second to last Topps Rainbow parallel I needed from 2016 base & update. The one I'm still missing is Stephen Vogt out of Update, for some reason.

1991 Fleer Update PSA10 Front.jpg
This one leaves just the 1991 Studio left to get for my Bags RC PSA run. The Studio will be a PSA 9 like my Bowman unless I can find a 10 to sub because there are only 16 PSA10 Studios out there and I haven't seen one for sale in years. PSA9s rarely come up.

Tatis-Acuna RCs.jpg
A few more RC stashes came in today too and I have several Tatis RCs coming tomorrow. I had good timing for once.

2002 Topps Chrome So Taguchi.jpg
This was the last 2002 Topps Chrome I needed for my Cardinals team set. Not sure why I put off buying a $2 card for so long but we've all been there.

Mozeliak Auto.jpg
It was cheap so I had to add an 8x10 auto of the 2nd most popular man in St. Louis right now.

Random 90s Inserts.jpg

These are a few random 90s inserts from a lot of 50 or so I picked up as set fills or starters.

I wish factory set foilboards still looked like that Brett Anderson. Sharp card!

I do like the kind of textured foil look on some of the recent factory set special cards but the 2011's were pretty decent.

Today's mail:

The Catfish is an SP from 2016 that I was still missing for some reason. Still need a couple from 2015 & 2016 to catch up all the way. 2008 Topps Chrome Red Refractors don't look as good as the 2007's, but at least they're more rare? This one is 01/25. I like to get the Topps Postseason cards each year there are some A's in the set - the Semien auto is my first arrival for 2021 with a couple more on the way. Still need a Semien gu/auto/30 and a few regular gu/99.

Beautiful Ichiro auto. Like the card market in general his prices have been rising. Now you can't get any of his certified autos for under $300.

I was lucky to get my /5, all in under $300 surprisingly. I’m really pleased with the look of the card too, red with the dark blue Mariners uniform. Sold off an Ichiro patch auto but it was a Marlins uniform and I just couldn’t get over that.

Saturday's mail:

022021.jpg
Not sure why I didn't yet have the 1997 Bowman International McGwire, but I have it now. I have a very extensive Jarrod Parker collection and have had the 2012 Bowman Chrome Red Refractor auto for quite a while, but had been missing the non-auto version so that's a good pickup. I own very few 1998 Bowman Chrome Golden Anniversaries, I think the Bennett up there is my second or third. The Sonny Gray A&G Mini Black is an SP.

February 22:

022221-1.jpg
The Chavez is the Legacy version, 48/50...not a super inspired version that year. Fleer kind of gave up on making their parallels look cool right around 2001. The Donaldson 2013 Topps Black completes the regular Topps Black team set for me, but I still need Pat Neshek out of Update to totally complete 2013.

022221-2.jpg
Stew is the gold parallel 21/25. 2007 is my favorite year for Topps Chrome Red Refractors, and the nice thing is they're easier to get because they are /99 instead of /25 like they've been the past dozen years or so. The 2000 SP Authentic Limited/100 Mario Encarnacion completes the 6-card A's team set. The 2006 Special F/X Green/99 Scutaro puts me two away from that thirty card team set, which would be a much more impressive accomplishment, but one I'm missing is Frank Thomas so I don't have high hopes of completing that one. Excited to finally land a 1996 Ultra Golden Prospects Gold Medallion Giambi, that was tough to track down.

022221-3.jpg
I still need the Refractor verison of the McGwire Wrecking Crew, plus the regular Topps version of the card. Paul Konerko gets the foil side of the Team Pinnacle card, but at least Grieve is on the side that's easier to scan, ha. Got my 2021 Topps series 1 team set, happy to see Mike Minor and Joakim Soria get A's cards along with the usual suspects. I like how the Topps 70 foil logo looks but overall the cards could be a little less busy.

Some real random stuff to fill wantlist needs:

022321.jpg
The Swisher puts me 2 away from the 2006 Topps Chrome Red Refractor team set, but as is the story with many team sets from 2006 one of the cards I'm missing is Frank Thomas. Similar story with 1998 SPx Finite Spectrum...the Christenson above leaves me 1 away from the team set, but the missing card is a Rickey Henderson/50. Justin Miller (who?) completes the 2000 Black Diamond Rookie Edition Gold team set of 6.

Pretty pumped about adding this Ichiro patch to my growing HOF (and soon to be HOF) patch collection. This card was inserted into various 2003 Upper Deck baseball products, with many coming out of UD Series 1. Although unnumbered, the Ichiro card has a known print run of /46.

There is no way to prove it, but I believe the material in the card to be from his 2001 RC year. Here is how my research leads me to believe that:

1. 2003 Upper Deck Series 1 baseball was released in November 2002
2. Upper Deck's website states "The production of a trading card product ranges from 3-9 months long, depending on the complexities and elements needed for a particular product."
3. The 3-9 month range puts this set being manufactured/produced between February 2002-August 2002
4. Since this is a patch card, I'm led to believe this would be around the 9 month production range, potentially having this card ready to be made in February of 2002
5. Regardless which month in 2002 the card was made, I don't see how Upper Deck would have acquired a jersey so early in the 2002 year to produce the card the same year to be ready by November 2002
6. How the patch in this card is NOT from Ichiro's 2001 RC year is beyond me :)

It was kind of a varied mail day today but I like it. A couple more Tatis RCs showed up. I like the Factory set image variation as a sleeper RC of sorts. I managed to grab the Guerreros before he spiked but they took forever to get here. O'Neill is about the only Cardinal I don't have a stash of so I've been grabbing stuff here and there. I really like that Action Variation image.

As always I had to have something old school too. These are only 133 years old but I guess they'll have to do.

Those Allen and Ginter state cards are pretty cool...I looked for my state but the set slightly pre-dates Washington's statehood, ha.

A couple of cards for Thursday:

022521.jpg
My first A's 2021 Postseason jersey pickup, still missing Matt Olson and Marcus Semien from the set. I fear that I cheaped out too much and missed the initial rush of listings, and these will not show up often going forward due to Topps running the presses on Series 1, making a /99 card a tough pull. Eh I'll eventually find them.
