If I had written this a month ago, this would be all about how Stephen Strasburg cards are going to be the hottest thing in the world for Bowman Chrome; and let's be honest, they'll still be highly popular.  The good news is, even with his injury, 2010 Bowman Chrome is about more than just Stephen Strasburg, as 2010 has become the year of the rookie.  From Austin Jackson, Buster Posey, Jason Heyward and others to Starlin Castro, Aroldis Chapman, Freddie Freeman and more, 2010 has seen some huge names come to the big leagues that have cards in 2010 Bowman, and this may likely continue with Bowman Chrome.  The inclusion of Team USA will also be helpful, as it will be the first cards of many players who expect to be taken in the 2011 Draft.

Release Date: October 13, 2010
Price Point: Approximately $4-5 per pack, $77 per box from Blowout Cards.
Product Loadout: 4 cards per pack, 18 packs per box and 12 boxes per case.
Hit Ratios: One chrome autograph per box, one Team USA autograph per every 5 boxes, 7 inserts and 7 parallels per box.

Anyone else notice there is no "Bowman Chrome Autograph Refractor" on that checklist? Oversight I assume?

2010 Topps Chrome is a wayyyyyyyy better buy this yr and here's why.

1) 2 RC Autos per box - Heyward/Cashburg/Castro to name 3.

2) Chrome inserts from Chicle and Heritage.

3) Since taking out the Uncirculated box toppers in '04...BC is mainly loaded down with vet ref's and triple A lifer's autos. Then you're left with chrome prospects that don't get a premium anymore unless they're graded a 9.5.

4) Pulling a top prospect redemption has gotten more common in BC.

5) Topps Chrome can be $20 less per box.

imho.

From the sales sheet, BowChro has no refractor auto, just colored refractors. And I fully agree, Bowman Chrome needs to go to 2 autos.

why would topps start putting 2 autos into bow chrome, when guys here are foaming
at the mouth and talking about pre-ordering 40 cases months before this product
even comes out?

topps chrome is going to suck big time this year, I would stay away.

This is such a ludicrous statement and you've repeated it several times without anything else to back it up besides your $.02. Have you seen the checklist? Do you know any players besides Phillies?

What are the pack odds (generally) for the refractors?

Does this look about right?
1:4 ref
1:10 blue
1:40 gold
1:80 orange
1:400 red

Anyone open a case of 2009? How many Orange refractors did you get?

No, I would multiply all of your odds by 2 or 3x.
1:4 veteran ref
1:10 Prospect ref
1:24 blue
1:108 gold
1:216 orange
1:800 red

any pictures of cards out yet besides Stras

The Shelby Miller card was featured on Baseball America's Prospect Hot Sheet one week.
