Yes i said spankees :D

Spankees is only the beginning of the problems in that sentence...

Actually, by my count, that's the THIRD problem in that sentence, if you go from left to right.

Eye suphoes your write. (Seems like the correct response)

That's very ironic coming from a Mets fan. It's no secret that they have tried to emulate the Yankees and buy a ring in recent years.
who did the mets buy?
Are you serious? Beltran, Johan, Delgado, Shefield, Krod. Shall I go on or is this enough for you.
i could be wrong, but i think we traded for johan, i think we traded for delgado too. We signed shef for $500,000 or whatever, so i would hardly consider that anything huge. Beltran was a few years ago, and krod was this year, we are entitled to our free agents every few years,

Yes they traded for Johan in the last year of his contract then signed him for 137MM. That's buying him. Same with Delgado only they didn't pay him 137MM.[/quote:1vb4f7ty]
please, compared to the yanks 137 MM is pocket change[/quote:1vb4f7ty]

Ohhh I see. It's only buying players when the Yankees sign players to big contracts.[/quote:1vb4f7ty]
um.... the huge contracts the yanks sign players too, it seems the yanks are the only people who sign people to big contracts, they set the standard for "big contracts'[/quote:1vb4f7ty]

I dont think you understand that the price of the contract is irrelevant in your argument. You said the Yankees buy players, so do the Mets. Yes we do spend more than any other team, but it's not like the Mets get all their players straight out of the farm system.

Agreed, Mets are just doing the same thing, except their buying players who find themselves on the DL and not helping their team make the playoffs...

I'm a Rays fan, but I'm a baseball fan first. I never understood how the Yankees could be criticized for how they conduct business. Unless they are spending the money, unlike some front offices who would rather pocket the money than put a winning team on the field. If my team had the monetary resources that the Yankees do, I would EXPECT them to spend that much money. The goal is to win. Some teams like the Yankees can do it by spending money, while other teams have to build from within.

Since when did the Mets buy Gary Sheffield? I do agree to an extent that the Mets are trying to buy a championship team with their addition of Johan, Castillo, Beltran, KRod & Ollie but they only have a certain amount of money to spend unlike the Yankees, whom have unlimited wealth.

Hi we're the yankees and 90% of our "fans" on FCB became "fans" in 1996.
