Hey guys, thought I'd share a little story here.....
My number one card that I've been trying to buy is now mine
The 2008 Topps Triple Threads Eli Manning White Whale Printing Plate Auto 1/1
Seller listed in in April-ish for way too high (like $450 or somewhere around there). I sent a few offers, went back and forth and it fizzled out. Eventally we had a pending deal for $225....for one reason or the other, he pulled the offer off the table before i paid him.
A month later, I email the guy again, asking if that offer could be put back on. He imforms me that he is selling his inventory off and this is one of the bigger cards in the lot. Crap I'm thinking this card is gone forever.
So tldr later, the 2008 Topps Triple Threads Eli Manning Auto 4/4 gets listed, again for $400 or so by another seller.
Funny thing happens, the whale never gets pulled down, and between the two cards (don't know if the two sellers were watching each other) but the prices start dropping.
I scoop up the 4/4 Auto for 120. I was pleased with that. A month or so later the whale starts dropping and dropping.
Ended up at 210 BIN. $15 less than our original deal. I thought for a second about hanging on to see if it would drop more, but the Giants at the time were still undefeated so I was scared it'd get hit. And to be fair, the seller was great with communication and such through many emails with my two accounts so I just bought it.
This is one of those days in collecting that you never forget  His wife added a note saying to enjoy the card, as her husband was sorry to see it go. It went to a great home and collection!
Without further adoo.....here's my PC of Eli Manning:
4/4 Auto
1/1
3/3
5/6
6/6
1/9
6/9
9/9
11/12
Thanks for reading (if you did
) I'm very happy today!
