According to espn.com the raiders have benched jamarcus russell. All i can i say is its about time they benched this bum. Another solid draft pick by the raiders. Gradkowski isnt the answer either but should breath some life into them atleast he can make a decision.

When I saw the title, I was hoping that you were informing us that they were moving to the UFL

I'm glad they are moving on from Russell. Gradkowski isn't a great QB either, but is a huge improvement over Russell imo.

As smart as this move might be for this year - what's the point? They aren't going to the playoffs and Russell isn't going to get better sitting on the bench - if he's still the QB of the future why do this? If he isn't - is Gradkowski? If your team is this bad winning individual games at the cost of player development is foolish.

Even Ryan Leaf and Tim Couch looked better than Russell.

Using the term "great decision" is a little over-stating it, this is Brad Gradkowski we're talking about.

Besides, why bench Russell now? If you're the Raiders, you're not making the playoffs, Grads isn't much better, you don't have to worry about "losing" your players, so why now? I say give him 3 more games, if he doesn't "figure it out" then dump him to the bench and in February, you cut him.

I think that Russel will go down as the biggest bust in NFL history. Just because the Raiders could have drafted AP or Joe Thomas. Thomas has already been to 2 Pro Bowls in 2 years and AP is well, AP.

Off The Marcus Russell will probably fall sitting down. He can't project his ass in the right direction either.

Damn. Read the title and was hoping somebody told Al Davis he died 15 years ago so he could move on and get out of the NFL.

I had a feeling a couple years ago. What team would Michael Vick fit on. I think he may be in the Silver and Black next year.

In other news the Raiders still suck and will continue to do so with Al Davis at the helm.
Al Davis is not amused...and possibly not alive.

San Jose, CA (AP)- A seven-year old boy was at the center of a Santa Clara County courtroom drama yesterday when he challenged a court ruling over who should have custody of him.. The boy has a history of being beaten by his parents and the judge initially awarded custody to his aunt, in keeping with child custody law and regulation requiring that family unity be maintained to the highest degree possible..

The boy surprised the court when he proclaimed that his aunt beat him more than his parents and he adamantly refused to live with her. When the judge then suggested that he live with his grandparents, the boy cried and said that they also beat him.

After considering the remainder of the immediate family and learning that domestic violence was apparently a way of life among them, the judge took the unprecedented step of allowing the boy to propose who should have custody of him.

After two recesses to check legal references and confer with the child welfare officials, the judge granted temporary custody to the Oakland Raiders, whom the boy firmly believes are not capable of beating anyone.

Obviously gradkowski isnt the answer as i stated in my original post but the players have to have no confidence in russell at all so gradkowski might breath a little life into them. I would say russell has had more then his fair share of chances and clearly is just not smart or talented enough to run an offense. He should and hopefully will be cut this offseason and im sure the raiders will draft another bust early in the first round.

Russell does suck and I am an LSU fan. Didn't even like him in college. I Just have to say it wasn't all his fault. I remember watching the raiders/Giants game (thanks nfl) b/c the Saints were off and Louis Murphy and Johnnie Lee Higgins ran into each other and knocked each other over 3 yards into the route. Russell isn't the only one that sucks thats all Im saying.
