Excellent post. Thanked.

I don't and won't own any either. Publicly bashing them may actually help. You know Brian reads the boards and instead of posting he will just send you a polite PM thanking you for your "kind words". Now is what he's doing considered irony or sarcasm? Besides that he may actually implement procedures to prevent this type of damage which would be nice. Razor will NEVER be successful without making 3 changes
#1. Must have an MLB license
#2. Innovation--something actually different. Oval office was not different
#3. Value--real, true, honest value for short and long term[/quote:1fwuo9f4]

I just got the aforementioned PM. I have to believe it's sarcastic.

I know that people have received them that have perfectly fine surfaces.

ru4scuba, I bet there are some nice quality ones out there but I have to agree with you that it cracks me up when people do try to twist it and make a negative a positive (it boggled my mind when some kool-aid drinkers were saying razor did a good thing by not giving us all gem mint in Sig Series)

I'm not a fan of kicking one when they're down (and I'm NOT saying Razor is down) but I'm even less of a fan of going overboard with finding the positive when a negative is pointd out (mredsox, jdfoxtrot, matchpenalty). It's almost like you can pencil them in with the Razor positive. Very loyal employees, I mean collectors

In my opinion, if you are packing out a product yourself, it is not acceptable for those cards to have condition issues in terms of surface, edges, and corners.

Centering is a manufacturing issue that nearly all companies have so that it more understandable. The other stuff is not.

I agree with this point.
As a collector himself, I find it odd that BG didn't make sure that all the lousy cards were handpicked and tossed. As a product that is going from the press straight to the ebay buyer, the QC should be a snap. We aren't talking tens of thousnads of cards here. It's not like some machine is sorting, packaging, sealing, etc.
Either Razor really is content with dishing out some good and some not so good OR people are being really nitpicky and want perfection.
I don't have any Metals so I don't have first hand experience but I would love to see some scans

How about someone trying to get a scan up of these so called scratched up surfaces. A good scanner should pick it up easily so we can all see. Otherwise I call BS.

I have neither sided with or against Razor....just watched from the sideline. I will say, they lack name recognition in the hobby and that is killing resale values of earlier releases.

I did pick-up some Isaac Galloway Letterman autographs off ebay for my PC since they were dirt cheap. I also decided to buy a handful of Hosmer blue metal cards.

I will post some scans and break down (fairly) the condition of the cards if they arrive today or Saturday.

The quandary comes in the form of the exclusive contracts. What are you going to do for 3 years when your guy is a Razor exclusive? Are you going to flip it for a Just parallel?

After this discussion, I am now impatiently waiting for my Blues to arrive to see what issues they may have.

There have always been industry reps on message boards particularly here and the old BMB, I'm 100% sure industry folks (incl. non-Razor folks) are here now. Its free advertising. Technically whenever someone pimps a player or an auction or particular brand they're doing the same thing - representing themselves, their employer or their agenda when they go to sell their wares.

But to single out one particular manufacturer (Razor) and say people here work for them when you have no proof is not called for, it just makes me think you have an agenda of your own: work Bowman/Topps, have a large Bowman stash you want to sell or something like that.

Eventually all the pimping and agendas get old. Real old.

I am fine with anyone slamming a card company with criticism. That is your right as a customer or prospective customer. However accusing your fellow board members of such dishonesty with only wild speculation as your source is quite insulting.

Yea, i took offense to him including me. Im sorry that I try to find the positives in things, what a bad outlook to have. And with the one comment I made in this thread, all i did was point out that some people had received them with perfectly fine surfaces. Not discrediting the OP but when you use your cards as the entire PR people are going to chime in

Well I got mine today and except for a couple of really minute print dots they are great.Surfaces look like they would grade well.My only beef is I really thought these suckers would be metal. They aren't.I never heard they wouldn't be.Guess that's my bad.I do know the top of my Buster Posey is kinda sticky too.Its almost like the glue or adhesive they used to press these things together kinda leaked. The top of the card looks a little odd but oh well. Its hardly noticeable unless you nitpick.
