Do you do your final cuts by hand with a knife or do you use a guillotine style paper cutter?

By hand.

I tried a professional guillotine press at a printing company I used to work for and it was almost impossible to line up that first cut because to avoid the guillotine impressions I had to add a few sheets of slip stock.

The standard "consumer" hand guillotine swing cutters are just too rough with the stock.

Also, considering the amount of layers, you get better results by hand...and better blisters.

That's cool, just wondering because they were so thick. I find mine tough to cut by hand and they are only 25 pts thick or so.

The front and back are printed at a photo developer on matte photo stock. This gives a great subtle gloss and sharp look without the dot and print patterns of inkjets, or haze and streaks from digital.

Here is the make-up of the card...layer by layer.

1. Front of card
2. 100lb acid free cover stock
3. Cut. Include any filler to make the cut fit the entire size of the card to keep the same overall thickness.
4. Acid free matte board. This gives it the thickness and depth.
5. Back of card.

Each layer is adhered with 3M acid free, archival spray adhesive - the expensive stuff.

I've been meaning to redo the "How-to" I posted sometime in January...and I'll probably do it with these.
