Just fugly...

I rather wait for a month and buy NT

To each their own, I guess. I think this looks better than the NT scans I have seen, and I will take hard-signed veterans over sticker auto veterans eight days a week.

Very understandable on the veterans, but on the RPAs, the windows of the Patch OR Jersey is just too small...

Yeah, I won't argue that - they could definitely be larger.

I don't get it. Why did they release two 5-Star products in one calendar year?

it's alright...could be better could be A LOT worse!!

I know i'm not paying $500 a box for those though...especially when none of them are PC for me...

If i see singles i like i might grab a few, but there's nothing special here...think National Treasures has it beat.

Not knocking it, I think it looks pretty damn good but it reminds me of last years Supreme. A lot.

Too bad there aren't more sticker autos 5 Star.

I was reading posts about Five Star on the blowout cards forums and the members were ripping it to shreds. People complain about the one color patches or jersey pieces but I figured the on card autographs would be the main reason why collectors would prefer this product over NT. Also, obviously Topps is going to increase the production of a product that won product of the year. These were the major complaints on a product that has just been released hours ago. I do hope the booklets have more patches but I think it's fair to reserve judgment until more cards pop up on ebay and more breaks are seen.

On a side note, I think the autographs and designs look very nice.

I really like the game used Super Bowl pieces, I wonder if any Colts-Bears stuff is in it.

I would love seeing more Super Bowl XLI relics. Topps would've had to spend some $ though to make it happen. When they did the relics in 2007 Topps they could only make a little over 10% of the planned run due to not being able to secure enough footballs.

I agree with you 100%.

More about the look of the card than the content of a patch worn for two seconds at the rookie premiere.

With this being the last licensed on card autograph product for veteran signatures, there is no competition anymore. They are now one of a kind.

I guess it comes down to what you prefer. Better patches or better autographs. Based on what I've seen, the autographs on Five Star are large and clean. The patches may not be as good as NT but the autographs are obviously on card, which is the number one thing I look for in the highest of high end products. With NT, the space to autograph is fairly small, and some autographs are sticker.

I'm interested to see some more breaks of Five Star in the next couple days.

Not as good style wise as last year but I can't believe people say it looks like crap. I think NT outside of RPA's has looked like crap for years and full of stickers.

If it is just a RPA contest then I guess SP Authentic wins this year????
