Ok, this also seem odd.....

I read the terms

There would appear to be no way to reach the $2500 annual cap if you are limited to 12 sessions per year and $200 max per session. Thus, it would seem that $2400 is the maximum annual reward/rebate (and the only way you achieve this is if you buy "big-ticket" every purchase- $800 or more with a 25% rebate) and not $2500.

What am I missing?

Sometimes the live.com cashback % fluxuates. I've seen it as low as 8-10% Cashback, and as high as 30% cashback. I wouldn't worry about it too much since it is free money anyway.

Agreed, it was and still is my understanding it is 250 per session. I'll have to go look at the fine print again, but as far as I know that number hasn't changed.

Alright! I've finally added the screenshots and now that we've got the this thread in sticky central, I'm here to keep it up do date and to help anyone who is struggling with the system.

I know there were others who were aware of the live.com cashback program, but I put the effort into making a walkthrough thread to try and cut down on all the new threads asking how to use it.

I made it mostly to help, but a little bit to try and free up the front page of the baseball forum from the seemingly endless new live.com help/info threads.

I'm just glad this has helped so many, and boosted interest in our Hobby & sportscards in general. Thats why I talked with representatives at Microsoft to get as much info about this program as possible, and to push as many people in the right direction as I can.

On my previous 3 purchases I got an email back stating I've earned cashback with the link to "get cash back". The mornings purchase I got an email stating my purchase was eligible for cashback with no link. I did everything the same as before. Is there something wrong with this last purchase?

I can't get into the initial eBay listings part... it keeps taking me to other search engines. Anybody know what I'm doing wrong? On step 4 it's not taking me to eBay, but redirecting me to results.msn.com and "jumping" me to other sites... WTF.

I understand it's not a scam but I would like to know before I give out personal information what that information is going to used for. Are they going be constantly sending stupid spam-ish emails? Mailing lists? Calls? Are they going to start charging later for this service?

In short, why in world would you give this much money away? Especially when people aren't spending it on their products. How can you stand to lose this much money on something you get absolutely no gain from? What is the catch.
I would like to understand this... then maybe I'd consider signing up.

Live.com is currently the #4 search engine in the world. They are doing this in an attempt to pass up google which is the #1 search engine.

Giving away money and prizes gets people to use their search engine. It is a form of advertising.

If they increase traffic to their service, they can charge advertisers more.
