I'll see you at the Oakdale one! I'm feeling the need to give a couple of these a whirl.

I checked at my Walmart last night and they had none of these. Probably better off, as I never pull anything from these anyway.

Went ahead and bought another one at lunch, these things really are a no brainer.
Pulled a Fielder SP out of Heritage and one of my codes unlocked a Freddie Freeman Red Diamond Die Cut (hit a Swisher one last week!)

Its hard *not* to think of all the people who know little of cards and buy retail like this. Most of the time they'd have no clue about what they've pulled. If someone else bought the OPs box, there'd be a Castro Canary Diamond in some 7 year old's bicycle spokes.

What do these look like? Our Target has a big pack for $30, haven't seen any for $15.

Ive busted 17 or 18 of these. Nothing more spectaular than a Heritage refractor, and a Posey Diamond Sparkle.

A few boxes have yeilded no codes in the packs. A few boxes have yeilded 2 codes in the packs for an almost equal balance, but in the end I think I am down one or two boxes not having an extra code.

WHAT IS WITH THE INDUSTRIAL STRENGTH GLUE THEY ARE USING BETWEEN THE REFRACTOR PACK AND THE MAIN PACKS??? UNNECESSARY!!! Almost to the point you pull so hard your afraid the wrapping is going to hurt the card before the glue gives...

I thought the same thing! Is a glue that strong really necessary?

That's the first huge lot broken with really not a lot to show for it. At the end of the day though (and I said it in Jeff's break) is that to be able to turn around and sell the codes and recoup better than 50% is pretty damn good.

I bought two more of these boxes. Nothing huge, except box #2 gave this:

2011 Topps Heritage Flashback Relics Hoyt Wilhelm Stadium Relic

I see they are selling for around $12-20 on eBay, so not too bad. I also got a total of 6 diamond giveaway cards (2 per box, plus 2 in packs).

On a sour note - out of all three boxes, all three refractors have been Ruth.

I opened 25 of these from 3 different walmarts around birmingham, al.

From basic Topps:

77 diamond codes
Stan Musial base SP
Mel Ott base SP
Chipper Jones Sparkle SP
12 Topps golds including Hellickson and Buster Posey
several original backs and ofcourse a ton of inserts

Topps Heritage:

Dave Hillman Auto
Robinson Cano wood card (probably not a bat as it says memorabilia)
Francisco Liriano cloth card (see above)
16 SPs (426-500) ... one was Brian McCann for the PC!
8 Chrome cards (Longo, Braun, C.C. Sabathia x2, AL homerun leaders x2, 2 others)
2 Chrome refractor cards (Cliff Lee and Phil Hughes)

Very pleased as long as I can still get $3+ for those redemption cards.

Also... out of 25... I only got 5 Mantle refractors... and 10 each of Ruth & Jackie Robinson. Anyone else think the Mantle is harder to find, or was it just my break?

Congrats on the pull Adam!

What are you thinking the "wood" is? I would assume the memorabilia statement is a blanket statement on every card (without getting into the the whole GU debate again)

lol... I don't know... I don't think Topps knows at this point. I mean, if it really was a game used bat piece of Robinson Cano... and they were 100% confident... they would put that on the card in my opinion. It is probably a piece of bat from a game he played in, but not necessarily a bat he used himself. Could even be a piece of wood from a bench or something... still game used as the bench was used for a baseball game.
