The Expos/Strasburg Thread got me thinking about how there had been a lot of great and very good players who went through Montreal. Now, this is true of any club, but most clubs have had some history of winning (sorry Nats fans). So I went through and put together a team. I wasn’t trying to make an actual roster because I would be very short on pitching, but just putting something together.
This is not necessarily based off of where they played for the Expos, but positions they did play in their career. Also, not all of these guys actually played for the Expos. A couple were just drafted by them (Sizemore and Phillips). I think it’s a pretty good looking team.
1B Andres Galarraga
2B Brandon Phillips
SS Maury Wills
3B Pete Rose
OF Tim Raines
OF Grady Sizemore
OF Andre Dawson
C Gary Carter
Bench
IF Delino Deshields
1B Tony Perez
OF Vladimir Guerrero
OF Marquis Grissom
OF Larry Walker
C Darrin Fletcher
UTL Rex Hudler
Pitchers
Randy Johnson
Pedro Martinez
Dennis Martinez
Mark Langston
Bartolo Colon
Oil Can Boyd
Jeff Reardon
Lee Smith
Feel free to tweak it if you want.
