I did an article on a 1990 Donruss Rated Rookie Frank Thomas - it was a riot. I made the card, and everything. I was being very sly about it all, and did say it was a joke at the end, but not in so many words, and people still believed it. Then several got upset, saying I should have been more explicit about it being a joke.

Regarding the I have too much time on my hands: I see this as a facet of my hobby. I love writing and making up stories, so while it isn't the manliest of hobbies, I sure do get a kick out of it

Last but not least, just as an update: I busted it out of the wrapper just to see how pretty it would look in a one touch:

I guess the only thing left to do would be to actually get it signed some day!

You should have stuck with Lucky's. We still have one of those. Or gone obscure but true and used Big Brother. Halfway thru that was planning a trip to Ft. Book to check the Hsv Times archives.

Either way, your fictional cards beat what Topps, Panini and Leaf are producing.
