Just read this on another site.

Why was my autographed item removed?
- Due to the tragic death of Junior Seau, eBay has temporarily suspended the 1 & 3-day listing formats for items that bear his signature. Please understand that this action is out of respect for Mr. Seau as well as the for safety and integrity of our members who wish to purchase items that include his authentic autograph.

May I relist my item?
- You may relist your item in the 5, 7, and 10 day listing formats. Please be aware that these listings will be monitored and the signatures may be reviewed for authenticity.

Props to eBay if this is what they will be doing from now on. Hurts the seller but the seller is just trying to make a quick buck off a bad deal to begin with.

That actually makes sense and will help prevent people from forging autos as soon as an athlete passes away.

I guess I fail to understand how the selling of memorabilia is in any way linked with respect for the deceased. I could understand if it were personal items, or something that negatively affected his body or legacy, but this does neither.

That actually makes sense and will help prevent people from forging autos as soon as an athlete passes away.

Which I agree with, but to apply it to all Seau auctions, including those clearly certified by their manufacturers, is extremely clumsy.

it's a catch 22, because there is NO difference between 3 day and 5 day auctions...

2 days...who cares...might as well restrict those too...my point is what difference does 1 day and 3 day auctions compared to 5 or 7 in terms of selling dead person's autos?? thanks for being a smart a$$ as usual...
