I'm fairly certain that it's nothing more than a case of missing foil, which in this perticular case probablly makes the card actually worth less than if proper quality control was in place like all the rest, just my 2...

I assume you already suspected as much?

No if you look real close the I is thicker than the legs of the N and on the I it's almost directly centered over the J in Jordan neither the legs in the N are over the center of the J. And there is no foil missing or scratched off.

your photo's are taken from opposite angles, you need to put up scans where people can do a good comparison. I think it is probably some type of variation, what year, # , and manufacturer is it?

I believe what you have there is the rare IBL Jordan error shortprint promo sample! Little known to many of his fans, Jordan left the NBA to play in the International Basketball Association. He played for a up-and-coming team out of Chile, called the Tierra del Fuego Bulls. In order to draw fans to come and watch the team, the local marketeria, Panchos, created a set of cards dedicated to the team as a stadium giveaway. The cards were designed, and created in the backroom of Henrita's Lavenderia. Sadly, while Henrita herself was at the last stage of production, a flock of chickens flew into her home and ravaged her supply of tamales destined for that nights fiesta. Remaking the tamales took precedence over the card production. Sadly, the cards were not finished in time for the game.

Henrita, and Pancho together ended up giving the cards away to anyone traveling through the Straits of Magellan (one per sailor).

Nice find! I am sure George Calfras has a few of them!
