Won't happen IMO.
I have a sneeky feeling with how tight lipped Dana is about the extent of Brock, that he's actually done. DONE.

SO this will be for the interim. Possibly, but with the implications for a new HW champ.
If that's the case, I'd love to see Randy come back up.

Dana being tight lipped about Brock?

That's odd to hear, because Dana hasn't shut up about Brock recently. He has been talking about Brock's situation fairly frequently.

I hope Brock can come back, and come nack strong.

I do think it's be a pretty ****** deal for him to have to come back and right away fight in another unification match in his first fight back after nearly being on his death bed. But that's what'll happen. I can't see them giving him a non-title warm up fight against a can before the eventual unification match. And it's likely that the first fight for the new interim champ will be the unification bout, so I don't see what the point is of yet another interim champion, but that's beside the point I guess.

But Mir beats Carwin. Carwin's just not as good as the Frank Mir we've seen in the octogan his last few fights, sans the Lesnar fight. He was impressive against Big Nog and Kongo. Carwin's yet to do much of anything to impress me. He's got punching power, but so what, so does Mir, and Mir is better at just about every other aspect of MMA than Carwin sans wrestling. But even if it does go to the ground I think Mir will tap him out. Carwin's no Lesnar, and I see Mir taking him.

i know people that have had surgery because of diverticulitis and unless he had just the most severe care in history.....he'll be able to return. he might be out for a year or so, but he'd be able to heal and return. So i'd plan on that Mir beat down by Brock coming soon enough.

Sam. Dana has kept quiet about the extent of Brock's seriousness. He's keeping that close hold for another 6 weeks or so. That is what I meant.

Dana has already said, that if/when Brock has surgery, and they are saying it's a "serious surgery", that the title picture will go on without him. And rightfully so.
So yes, Brock may have surgery, and MAY be able to return to fighting down the road. One year, year and a half from now, but he'll be naked and without a belt. The show must go on.

Just like they did when Mir broke his arm, and just like they did when they wouldn't pay Couture what he deserved.
