Just had a 1995 Bowman's Best BGS 9.5 Frank Thomas REFRACTOR pop, they are tough to get centered with no refractor lines! ...woohooo!

Just snagged this on eBay for a sound...about half of what the usual 9 sales for and MUCH cheaper than the 9.5s that are being sold right now. I have it on good authority that a few potential PSA 10s will be hitting the market soon...this will tide me over until then.

While I wasn't a member in time to participate in the Secret Santa program on this forum, I did participate on another forum. I wanted to post my absolutely amazing and generous gift from James Jones, my Secret Santa, and the number 1 PSA Frank Thomas Master Set owner...I'm truly speechless and have been shaking every time I think about how generous his gift was.

Speaks for itself...

That would make a good Thomas collection, let alone a secret santa gift. Did you already have one of the Linchpins? That is one of my favorite cards. And I think that '04 Prime Cuts used to be in my collection. I'll see if I still have the scan. That Pacific Prisim is bad-ass! Ok...I'm done rambling. :D

No, I didn't have the Linchpins...that is an awesome card, I had only seen them online, never in person. The prism is sweet...there are a lot of sweet parallels there too..stat lines, refractors, really low number stuff. It still blows me away.

I know exactly what you mean. I told him he did more for my collection than I had done in a year...ha, probably more like two. The terrible thing is, our minimum was $25...anything more than that was extra. He went waaaaayyyy extra. I feel bad though because I was his Secret Santa (we were paired because of a common collecting focus obviously), but literally, what do you buy a guy with everything? I purchased 3 pop 1 PSA 10 cards and another PSA 10 card that I don't think he has, all for his registry. I then added a few things like a complete '92 Topps Triple Headers with candy and flyer, an unused ticket to Thomas' 11th Grand Slam game, a '90 USA sealed set, and a '90 Donn Jennings sealed set. Anyway, I thought cool, hopefully he can use this stuff. I sent what I thought was well over the minimum. I didn't know at the time he was my Secret Santa and that's what he'd be sending in return. I would have had to give away the majority of my personal collection to even attempt to equal what he's done for me. I'm sure he didn't do it to get something in return, but still, I feel bad. Which sucks, because I felt really good about my gift before opening his to me lol.

Wow, that is an amazing collection of cards! Must have been the genuine Santa! That '90 Coke PSA 10 is especially amazing!

Just an FYI, but be careful on those 1987 Pan Am auctions that pscmet has on e-bay for the non-BGS examples where he claims a minimum of 8.5.....Got mine in the mail today and had 1 terrible corner and 3 bad corners....what a ripoff. Not the card pictured. I think he scanned a picture of one of those that were a BGS 9 or 9.5. Waiting to hear back from him.....ugh

I noticed he was using the same image for everything...including the graded cards. I just snagged a BGS 9 from him for $75 delivered. It has the same image as the rest of the BGS 9s he's sold, but the same sub grades, so I'm hoping it looks like the picture.

Finally got a Thomas 96 Studio Silver Press Proof (w/out paying Burbanks $246 asking price). :D

Had trouble getting these cards from the seller. 2 days after I made payment, he was no longer a registered user. Kept giving me excuse after excuse why he hadn't shipped them yet. Finally got 'em after about 5 weeks though.

Had this one for a few years, was just too lazy to scan.

Since I haven't posted for awhile on your thread here's a scan for your thread.....bottom piece is part of the 2003 All-Star Patch ;) I thought it'd be appropriate for the season since it looks like a Peppermint candy

Happy Holidays everyone!

Dang Chad, I was wondering who won the Silver 1996 Studio press proof......I had the highest bid at $29 for a while, and was away from my computer when it was closing. I did not expect it to go for $100....shows how popular Frank cards still are, or how crazy a small group of us are!

LaneyB: Thanks. I'm gonna try to fix it up a little w/ photoshop.

randyherth: I didn't expect it to go for $100 either. I figured it would end for $150-$200. I was thrilled to find out it went so cheap.
