Anyone see this fake? [ebay:eiu49547]190380006110[/ebay:eiu49547]

And yet there are 11 bids on it. ::facepalm::

::facepalm:: :evil:
I bid on it cause I thought it'd be cool to own a counterfeit one but I only bid $2. I really hope everyone bidding on it knows its counterfeit.
Since I know nothing about NNOF's, how can you tell?

How can you tell it's a fake (other than the bad picture and 0 feedback seller)?

The only concern I see with it are the tails on the "F" and the "T," but that's just because I can't see them very well. What I can see looks okay to me. Is it paint pen?
Yeah it is paint pen.

Sorry I didn't answer earlier, I didn't want to interupt the dialogue.

In the case of this particular fake it's the fact that the Topps logo is visible and the size of the card is a bit smaller than an actual '90 Topps BB card. The placement of the "missing" black ink is a bit askew as well. It's actually a REALLY good fake. There are other small variances too...a few common "birthmarks" of a NNOF that are missing if you will.

But the most common fakes are only missing the name which in all reality isn't true. The error was created by a damaged (actually I think 2 or 3 damaged) black printing plate. Subsequently, as can be seen on my copy below, the black ink is missing diagonally across the Topps logo (only the tail of the S and the registered trademark should be seen), through Frank's name, and on to the mid left border of the card.

If that made no sense, I apologize. Irish whiskey may have gotten the best of me tonight.

Yeah it is paint pen.

I think the signature is fine, what can be seen looks legit.

Didn't post this yet. This was waiting for me in the mailbox when I got home from work fri night/sat am
I'll get a better scan, but this will do for now. I'm pretty sure it's part of the 'O' on his back. The Jays didnt use numebrs on the front like the A's did, which is where I'm sure my exquisite patch came from.

Thanks. I didn't notice the Topps logo earlier. I had heard that some people started collecting the other players on the sheets missing the black ink. Has anyone seen what those cards have sold for?

Only 1 has been sold on the open market, a Julio Franco. It went for the opening bid of $55.

The other few that have sold in individual sales haven't garnered much.

Yeah, I'm watching a few auctions myself today. Won one this morning for a complete PanAm Blue set with an SGC 96 Thomas. It looks perfectly centered on the front. My hope is the corners and edges are solid (I assume they are being only 1 scale value away from Gem). Anyway, now that PSA is following BGS and giving Gem scores to the card even though it has a miscut back by standard, I'm hoping I can crack it out and turn it into a PSA 10.

Nice pickup, Ross

Are those slabs much bigger than BGS/PSA? They sure look like it!

Great card Ross and nice centering. I prefer PSA cards but do have one BGS graded card ... the Pan Am blue with a 9.5 grade. Still, I would like a PSA 10.

This is my small graded collection (thats an understatement)
a nice 9, slighty yellowed, and I dont know if its case or card

This was only 12

And this replaced my tiffany, and is my only PSA card.
