Yeah, you did really well Randy. Probably record lows on all of those cards...in some cases substantially so. The OPC and ProCards still have spikes to around $100 every few auctions or so.

Thank you for all the info on the Reserves gentlemen. I'll keep my eyes open.

------

Recent pickup that I'm grateful to have considering the first I ever purchased was lost in the mail...glad to have it.

Can't say that I have seen this one before...... I thought there was only the regular card version of this! Very nice!!

Yes, they weren't intended for release, you can read about it on Lance's site:

http://www.frankthomascollection.com/97 ... _Card.html

I was very lucky that an old, tattered, resealed package arrived on my doorstep yesterday. In side, was the original copy of this card I purchased...I feel very fortunate that it showed up.

Glad to see that it is from 1997, and currently not part of my goal through 1996! I'm sure I will be looking for it someday..........

I'm not sure why the image of the 1996 FanFest card was used for a 1997 FanFest event.

edited to add:

I just did a google archives search and found out that Berg was at both the 1996 and 1997 All Star FanFest events to build card houses. Apparently, in Philadelphia he did a replica stadium...maybe these were actually used for the '96 event. Seems like it would make more sense.

The person I got it from was actually at the event, so I'll email to ask which year he attended to get it.

That would be very interesting to know.....

Like Lance's site said, the cards came from the 1997 FanFest in Cleveland. I'm now curious to know what was used in Philadelphia the year before.

Couple of pieces of mail...I had no clue the Diamond Producers was a real wood card until earlier this week, so I bought from the dreaded Burbank...these are prone to chipping I read and see that it's true. Either way, tough card and I'll take it.

How much are ya talking? The cheapest I found from Richmond to Chicago is around $325. That's w/ a lay-over though. Non-stop is a little less than double.

I know i'm a day late. (or month)
Did you look at flying to milwaukee? only 2 hours from there. I know at one time i posted the date of the game, but it slipped my mind. Remind me again. If it is before I move from milwaukee to iowa city, your welcome to stay. That goes for any thomas collector.

I don't remember when the game is either Chris, but I appreciate the offer. Since Frank is gonna be at the nationals this year, I'm not gonna go to the game. Too bad they want $100 for a pic w/ him.

You need to contact lance. I don't know if he will want it or not, but you need to talk to him before anyone else.

Sooooo, with the National coming to Baltimore and the announcement of an appearance by Frank Thomas, I was about as jazzed as I could be. Until I got a phone call for work in Detroit  Now I'm bailing on two vacation plans and am spending the rest of my summer away from home. BUT I'm making money so I guess thats the brightside of things. I still plan on attending Frank Thomas Day in Chicago (especially because tickets are in hand and I'm going with my dad). Damn you responsibilities!!! Sucks to have to do, but hey there is always next time. I just wanted to vent and share my frustrations. Sorry I won't get to meet the guys coming into Baltimore, but maybe I'll catch you guys in Chicago :( . Thanks for listening. Be well.

What a bummer! I'm sure the retirement game will more than make up for it! Do you not travel back home on the weekends?

Took a while to get all of these, along with the error cards, but finally completed the complete set of all 8 for Frank! They are cheap, but difficult to find all of them.....
