So, sometimes I send a friendly note to people selling grossly fake Thomas items that include pics of him signing it. This time I seem to have struck a nerve:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0475362839

Here is his response to my e-mail asking why he has this fake photo with this ball:

Dear toohot1999,

No, its not him signing the actual ball, this is a pic from my phone standing in line to get the ball signed, i dont need your "professional" opinions, and you are blocked from even bidding, or buying, and im also sending your email to Ebay for harrasment, you will be hearing from it soon!

OK here is his reply:
Dear customer,

Hey, i got the autograph about 4 years ago at a opening at a financial services company my buddy worked at, he snuck me in. it was supposed to be all employees. The Coa is from my uncles memorabilia store he had opened until he died 3 years ago. he was one of the best in the business until the heart problems took him. I have over 400 aoutgraphed balls in my personal collection and he hand inspected them all for me for insurance reasons. Beleive me though, he was a tough cookie. Im reopening the shop within the next 6 months once the lawyers and my aunt get done fine tuning the paperwork. I inherited the contents but its a pain in the neck to go into small business these days. thanks for the question. The ball hasnt been taken out of the ball cube, except for the pic, since it was signed

Wow, I think he meant to say that his uncle signed them all. What a liar. Oh well. Should be interesting to see if E-Bay sends me a notice. Can't imagine that they would as I only said that his ball was a fake.

Hello friends,
I'm having trouble identifying the following card. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much. :-)

1997ccthomas.png

What I know so far:
It's slightly smaller in size compared to the standard '96 Collector's Choice.
A foil front and part of a subset of some type.
Not recognized in any price guide (that I know of)

Thoughts?

Someone had a Jeff Bagwell on here from the same set and similar questions. You might try to search that post and see if he found out anything from the research he did.

Sorry, but I can't say that I have seen that before. Yuck, another card to put on the 1996 checklist! I am very interested to know what you find out. Where did you get it at?

Well I asked him who his uncle was and where his shop was. No reply yet and prabably won't
And still no answer from him. :? Maybe the fact he is a croock ::facepalm::

Sounds that way. I havn't received a "harrassment" notice from E-Bay yet. ;) Check out his other signed balls. I have no idea what the signatures for the other players should look like, but it is easy to tell that someone forged each one. The signatures have no flow, they start and stop, and they look like there was a lot of hesitation. Check out the Josh Hamilton ball. A bit disturbing that he forged the "John 3:16" part of the signature......

This late 90's stuff is so darn complex, almost secretive to some degree. I'll keep you posted with my finds. As of right now, I'm still stumped by this issue. I picked this up at a card shop in Southern CA.
