I spoke with Lance through email. He stated that there was a back up copy of the cards made as replacements for damaged cards in 1998. Since the company went belly up the back-ups were leaked to the general public. My card has the original PP# recognized by Beckett and his has the card number of the base card. So technically they are not the same card but are exact in appearance other than the #.

I believe my journey as a Thomas collector is coming to an end. I realize that I no longer have the time or the same passion I once had for my collection. I've only posted a few times here, but have kept a close eye on this thread. It has helped me immensely and has given me the chance to see some truely amazing cards. I do believe that the some of the most sincere Thomas collectors frequent this board and this thread so as I begin to sell off my collection I thought it only fair to give you guys the first shot at whatever cards you may need or deem cool. While my collection is quite large, over 2100 different cards, it lacks the punch of other collections. but it has brought me joy and there are some gems in there. My website is listed below with everything I have, I may keep one or two cards, but most will be sold. If there is anything you see that you like please send me a PM and we can work something out.

Thank you,
CJ

I have had issues financially keeping up these last few years and after his retirement find myself strongly going after other things. So I am considering breaking the Thomas Super PC up.

There are going to be some happy Thomas collectors out there (and/or very poor ones!) I am sorry to see you both part ways with the Thomas cards... :(

I will be keeping the pre-1997 stuff so that will help my wounds a little. I hope!!!!!

Okay since this is the best place for Thomas Collector's. I need help. I have wondered for a while what these cards were and am hoping someone here can help. If you need better scans let me know.

The porcelain cards were just aftermarket jobs licensed by Topps through R&N Porcelain with technology from Mitsubishi (who later contributed to the 1997 & 1998 Preferred Precious Metals cards).

The gold card is also aftermarket, 1992 ProMint MVP 22k Gold; there is also a promo version.

The card numbered PP6 is the 1996 Topps Pre-Production promo.

The Big Heart was a pack advertisement insert.

The Magnets are later Chris Martin Enterprises Pro Mag items.

The Lid is a ballpark frozen yogurt treat lid from parks around the country.

The red/yellow thing is an Uncut Button from the early '90s JKA pinbacks.

The others are Red Foley Sticker cuts...think the right one is from 1991 or 2...not sure about the other one.

So the porcelain are not recognized by Beckett?

any clues what year or anything?

The Magnets are later Chris Martin Enterprises Pro Mag items.
again any clue what years or anything, are they recognized by Beckett?

I know its 1999 FroZsnacks, but wasn't sure if it was listed differently

The red/yellow thing is an Uncut Button from the early '90s JKA pinbacks.
I was once told this was a 1992 Carol Wright Proof, is that inaccurate?

The others are Red Foley Sticker cuts...think the right one is from 1991 or 2...not sure about the other one.
This is funny cause I thought I owned zero Red Foley

Anyone here know much about this auto issue by Star in 1991? I happen to have bought a couple over the past few years and wasn't sure about its limited nature, or how it was issued

Randy,

I'm pretty sure one came with every set purchase. There are a lot of folks out there with stashes of this card they've forgotten about. I've yet to pick one up, but, realistically, they should never sell for more than $15 or $20 in the current market.

For as many junky star sets that were issued, it seems to me like it would have been random like the Barry Colla issue, but I never spent my hard earned allowance back then on the star junk.......

I thought the ProMint card was more like 1994 or 1995, but I will yield to Ross' expertise.

The Big Heart advertisement insert shown was for the 1997 Big Heart Set

The frozen yogurt lid was from a brand called FroZSnacks High Screamers. Like Ross said, they were sold in baseball parks in 1999. There were actually three different colors - blue, green and orange.

I have heard the uncut button be classified as Carol Wright and JKA Pinbacks (which I personally use in my collection).

The two Red Foley stickers are from 1991 and 1992 - The one on the right (#111) is from 1991 and the one on the left (#93) is from 1992.

Hope that helps.

The Promint is a 1994 I think, you are correct, maybe 1995 but I know 1992 isn't it.
The lid is 1999 FroZSnacks, that's accurate, must not be a listed item.
I thought the button was Carol Wright, thanks for confirming
I got the Foley's he had helped with those.

The ProMags are still giving me trouble.

1998 Crown Pro Magnets, also listed as "Heroes of the Lockeroom", but without the packaging, you'd never know it was that. And they're also listed sometimes as "Chris Martin Pro Magnets"
