patrick182: Looks like you had a pretty successful summer in terms of landing HTF Frank inserts. You have a few of my favorites in that group. Very nice!

Thanks!! I actually wasn't sure if everyone else could see them so I re-uploaded them. The Klesko AP and the Quantum Leap were on my list of top 10 toughest since 08 so I was hugely glad to knock those out. 8-)

I know how ya feel. I didn't land my Klesko AP until recently, & lucked out on my QL.....well sort of, traded a '08 Finest 1/1 for it. Still looking for a The Man Ref though.

edited to add: I'm not sure how to resize w/ photobucket, but it's very easy w/ imageshack. If you select a smaller size the scan won't take up most of the screen. Great blog too btw. ;)

Hat's off to you for finding the Klesko AP, as you well know, that's one tough cookie. I was floored when I saw one hit the auction block. Speaking of tough gems. That gigglemoon's got some ultra rare Thomas's. There was a 98 Leaf Fractal Matrix Die-Cut #d/20 that sold on eBay in early September for something around $256, did you see that? Do you know who won that card? My connection froze up when I entered my bid. I'm still searching for that card.

Patrick,
Some nice cards you have there. My favorites are the promos and I am always looking for the ones I don't have. Any extras?

I was underbidder on it. That was the name of the game for me this summer. 2nd in line.

I had originally set a snipe of over $350 when it was first listed...when it got pulled I spent a bunch of money on vintage to drown my sorrows. A week later it was relisted, I just didn't have the funds to plunk down as much. I don't know what it would have taken to beat whomever won it.

Oh man, that's upsetting. When I went to place my bid, I got one of those dreaded "Page Not Responding" prompts. I lost out on a few incredible auctions this summer no thanks to that prompt. :-/ Oh well, there are always other Thomas cards to chase in the mean time. :P

Great group of cards! That Thomas/Klesko is tough to find for some reason. Not sure why, as I don't imagine that Klesko has too many die hard fans out there. I can't recall where I got mine.....it was either lucky with a BIN, or in a large lot of cards.

I was going to bid on a card on eBay until I saw that it was BSG. (not BGS). After I goggled BSG I found nothing about the grading service so I emailed the seller and he sent me the following reply:

Dear gofrankgo,

BSG is a traveling grading company and I have only seen them at shows. Every time I see them I give them about a hundred cards to grade and I believe they are based out of Las Vegas. I am not sure who the actual owner is or how to contact them. I use them because they dont do population control like the other grading companies. If your card deserves a gem mint 10 they will give it the 10. If it is a 9 they will grade it a 9. They are a very fair company and one that wants to service thier customers and give them the grades they deserve.

Has anyone had any dealings with BSG or know anything about them?
