Deal will be announced later tonight, apparently. Lewis himself confirmed it on his Twitter.

Alone, he doesn't excite me. But he should form the perfect platoon with Bautista. Their splits complement each other very nicely.

Not sure who's going the other way. Probably won't be much.

EDIT: Now confirmed. PTBNL or cash. Means if it is a PTBNL, it's nobody of consequence. I like it fine.

I still like Lewis, I hope he gets a chance to play and proves himself in Toronto.

A PTBNL or cash is better then nothing. Same kind of deal as the Kevin Frandsen to Boston trade.

Seriously.

Elijah Dukes.

Please.

Please.

I think it's funny how "we need a lead-off hitter" means "we need someone with speed, regardless of their ability to get on base"

Would Dukes even be allowed in Canada with his rap sheet? No thanks.

I don't know too much about Lewis but I'd be willing to give him a shot. It looks like E5 will be down for a few games so Batista and Lewis could alternate in the OF/3B.

Haha, they just referred to this as a "major baseball trade" on ESPN.

Lewis' on-base percentage is around .355 - it isn't getting on-base at a .400 clip, but if healthy and given some regular playing time, he can be a Nyjer Morgan or perhaps a lefty Rajai Davis.

I still like Fred Lewis except for his lapses on the field. He was decent offensively though. Good luck Freddy!

He is not even close to the same class of a base stealer as Morgan or Davis.

Dukes, Dukes, Dukes! Dukes!

Yah, fred lewis isn't awful. As long as you can top Jose Bautista or Alex Gonzalez's .324 or .296 career OBP, you're okay in my book.
