Please repay me with a complete set. ;)

Rookie
Costume
Cards

If you aren't aware of this tradition, each September when the rookies are called up, the big leaguers make the rooks dress up funny either at the airport for the last roadtrip and/or at the stadium.

No uniforms, so BG and panini could do it. Much better than the backwards hat photos.

Topps could even do it akin to their pie face SPs

Thoughts?

Too many people would whine about the glorification of hazing.

I would build a Gold Refractor set.

This smacks of an idea from a person with an affinity for seeing grown men in Hooters uniforms.

I agree about the people whining about hazing being glorified. These companies probably wouldn't do it.

Could be done as alternate versions of the regular cards, like a 128A/B release as Topps loves to do.

I too would be building that set, yes.

Wait wait wait. Better idea? DUAL AUTO with the player in the costume and the person they are dressed as.

DONE.

This is what I meant when referencing the pie face alternate SP cards.

Fun idea...the Stephen Strasburg Papa Smurf card would be hot. On the other hand, Vance Worley appeared to be dressed as The Gimp...I don't want that card in my collection.

I think hazing is overrated and there is no use for it.

I went through it in high school (as did everyone who played) and i always found it pointless.

Also, it's funny to see people who are so against bullying think hazing is the ****

Hazing is a loaded word and can mean terrible things to some people.

This is just about costumes. Perhaps we call it just that. Rookie costume cards.

Personally, I think hazing is stupid too. I wouldn't compare it to bullying though simply because the intent of the "perpetrators" is totally different. I haven't heard of any rookie "victims" being upset about getting hazed, and when you get down to comparing those 2 things, that's what you have to consider (the victim's feelings).

BTW, I might be in the minority but I wouldn't have any interest in a set like that.

I agree with your sentiments, but they virtually are the same thing. Just one is more "friendly"

Hazing is done to humiliate someone, albeit in a team-orientated manner.

Bullying is done to humiliate someone in a hurtful manner.

I also agree, I would have no interest in it either and im sure whoever made it would open themselves up to a media outburst from anti-bullying groups and Dez Bryant's everywhere

I think anyone that has ever been on a team, in a fraternity, in a group of males, etc., would think that more "hazing" occurs w/ the guys that are a part of the group than the new guys that join. In other words, I would only mess w/ the people I really like. Practical jokes, etc., are fun, even when they happen to you. The icy hot in the jock got me once. It was funny. I lived.

Making someone get drunk, high, beating on them, hitting them, really making them do anything they don't want to do, to me is hazing. If they don't want to do it, don't. If it's such a big deal to them, then stand up for themselves. Be on the outside of the group. Make people know they can't trust you to have their back.
