Good morning. Got a lot of yard work done yesterday, therefore slightly sore this morning. Need to turn the soil in the vegetable garden today, using a pitchfork.
Morning all! Largest fire in Nebraska history is officially 98% contained as of this morning. 643,074 acres burned at this point. This doesn't include the other fires that have been burning the past week. The other larger fire is at 80% contained and around 130,000 acres burned. Glad this is all coming to an end. The big one started about 20 miles south of where I'm at.
I' m now last of a generation with last name . My last cousin died he was 86 . Spent one day driving to Alabama thru Knoxville , and Chattanooga lot of bumper traffic to get to Alabama .Even GPS didn't know some of the roads I knew but I remembered all the curves ---trucks can't go on some due to "S" curves . I knew lots of history of family tree - my dad had ONE brother and TEN SISTERS. So i was story teller . Look up Nick A Jack cave --I've been way back in it till fenced off =now opened as a park LOL Stayed in a vacant house owned by family and first in years I got to see old home site ----OUTHOUSE IS GONE --LOL -YES WE USED IN 1970'S Then after a long Baptist sermon and meal i had a long seven hour drive home . Part of that drive thru the GORGE area washed away- being rebuilt. . I didn't even know what today was till few minutes ago . PLEASE PLEASE value your family one day you will miss even the bad times .
Sorry for your loss @tramers. My last name ends with me and my brother. I have no children; my brother has two girls. My dad has one sibling a sister. While there are others with my last name our line of Siegfried will eventually end.
Rough night last night but finally starting to feel better. I have zero scheduled for the weekend. Except a lot of sleeping.
Record high of 86 today. Three times in recorded history has it hit 90 in March in KC. Tomorrow is the third calling for 91!
