That was rough at church --- some i hadn't seen in 40 years -- many old friends . I signed my name and two groups we were in .
Yesterday i went to Rec field where we played football , called for a huddle of those that have passed . Many times on Sunday players had played HS or College that weekend ---- we left a blood bank some days and several broken bones

Afternoon all! The sun is finally out! Going to do as little as possible this weekend. I plan do do some cooking on Sunday. Hopefully I can make some food to eat for the next week. There is no way I'll have time to cook dinner every night.

We were a large FAMILY -better than friends ---
Rec i grew up at / worked == had wrestling 1960's in gym / college played basketball / 1970's we had Jr high / High school and adult basketball leagues / 200 on swim team / 500 /1000 daily swimming /it was a 50 meter pool also had an indoor pool - smaller /Six lifeguards each had four classes of lesson a day of 8 to ten kids -started at 5 yearolds every two weeks and we had adult lessons Eight little league football teams / 10 fields for pee wee baseball / one field for night softball league / ten tennis court with lights / HAD a ZOO - lion / chimp/ jaguar/ two spider monkeys / oscolet - cat / mandrill -baboon / live bands for dancing - had 8 bowling lanes - converted to teen room for bands / 8 pool tables -these were NICE / two ping pong tables / had a small train / day care kept maybe 40 kids / bridge club once a week / two juke boxes-- had to turn off at night to close . i was set up man for ranked state ping pong player . High school and Jr high both less than a mile away --walked after school there . . NOW WHAT DO KIDS DO ????????????

Play dumb crap on their cell phones (or their parent's phone)...sad. Even sadder that many parents encourage the behavior because it 1. keeps them quiet, 2. keeps them out of trouble, or 3. keeps them from whining and throwing a hissy fit.

this is one of the teams i coached ---- two are my doctors one in politics one hollywood actor ----I tell the actor his claim to fame is Clint Eastwood kills him by NOT shooting him .

Great info Barry! I do wish there were thing like this for kids now. I remember going from school to something like this on most days. I would get home in time for dinner. Didn't have much time to get in trouble.
