For the Jets, Harvin is 3million more expensive and they ended up giving up a 4th rd pick for him based on 2014 production. Also contractual control affects the trade pick value. I would have loved a higher pick but we got something.
As for poor QB play...look at the stats. Career high in TD and most passing yards since Denver....oh and he was benched at the end of the year.
I get the contract is something that effects the trade. I also think Marshall > Harvin. You stated he was declining and I don't think he is all that much. I think he is more 2013 than 2014 (but not 2012) quality. And the QB play and the sitting games was the cause for his stats to fall so hard last year IMO. I'm just surprised if they were going to move on , that's all it took. Seems cheap to me , but going to the Jets may not make his stats look any better.
