I was looking in a box where I have 8x10's stored (I don't really have the wall space for them all.) I was looking for my Kenny Boyer auto (see post called "Ken Boyer") when I found other 8x10s I had fogotten about. Plus the glass on them really could use a good cleaning!

Here's the Kenny Boyer...

Found this picture underneath another one...

Completely forgot I had it! This is really the first old style Gaetti auto I got. I got it from a friend of mine in Centralia probably 8-9 years ago. How could I forget such an awesome photo? I'll scan some more pictures later. I need to make some wall space somewhere! (Sorry dear, the Ansel Adams' have got to go!)

Greg,
Not sure if you knew that Ken Boyer's nephew has (had?) a bat company called Sticks by Stan. He used to make the bats at a booth at Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia. The slogan for his company was "Home Run After Home Run" in reference to a quote the press made about Ken Boyer's performance in the World Series. Nice bats.

Never knew that. Sounds cool.

Pulled everything out and cleaned all the glass. So why not scan everything. Found other oddballs that the Ripken collectors should love.

First a couple more HOF 8x10's...

A Twins favorite that I missed during Twinsfest, but we got this last time Mudcat did Twinsfest, many years ago. Notice the little "Mudcat" face he drew after his signature. You sure don't see that very often!

For the Ripken collectors; first a sheet given out after the game in which Cal hit his 3,000th hit. Who knows how many of these were made and handed out (or survived)--the game wasn't exactly a sellout as I remember...

Not to be outdone, the Twins then sent these out to Season Ticket holders, complete with an unused General Admission ticket. (mine is courtesy of my brother)

Finally, a couple pictures of my Dad. Really, having cool older pictures of my father is so much more important than the other stuff. (though the SI auto w/Kirby comes close--kidding, Dad!)

Dad pitching softball. This is the original photo (5x7) used in our local newspaper for a story on him, circa 1973-74(?)

One of Dad's bowling team pictures. There are others, but I love this one. Most of the guys in this picture I knew when they were in their 50's and 60's, so seeing them as a bunch of young bucks is really cool. Did they really bowl wearing ties? Dad is third from the left. The tall guy with the big ears (just like every picture he's in.)

Thanks for the kind indulgence to feature pics of my Dad in with our baseball heroes. :D

If the Ripken collector's thread turns up, I may repost the Ripken certificates. I think those guys (like Russ) may get a kick out of seeing them. (don't bother to PM boys, they're not available!)

Great stuff Greg! You look a lot like your dad (other than the ears)!

I'm pretty sure I have those same Brooks Robinson and Joe Morgan photos autographed. Must be common ones!

I got them when they came to card shows in the Cities many years ago. (Earle Brown Center, I think.) Probably got them at the same time!
