My newest pickup is a 1948 Bowman Geroge Mikan rookie in SGC 10 condition. I'll have a scan up in a few days

I just picked up THE 1948 Bowman George Mikan rookie card in SGC 10. It is the most valuable basketball card in the world. I have my own predictions but any ideas on how much it might be worth if I sell it in 30 years? Thanks

Sorry, but the Mikan is nowhere near the most valuable basketball card in the world. Great piece, but selling for just over 700 leaves it a LONG way away from the most valuable.

Id say in 30 years you could probably get the same as you have into it.

Lebron James Exquisite > Mikan ;)

Along with about 10 logoman/logomen cards, about 10 exquisite RC's and plenty of triple/quad autos

I think you forgot a few zeros there. And I meant for the same condition, can you find a bball card that went for $218,500? didn't think so.

I'm just curious as to how this is a $218,000 card when it sold for $717...

Nobody would be dumb enough to grade a modern card if it were to grade a SGC 10.
Your card is worth the 717.00 it just sold for. Not sure what you're talking about. You seem confused.

No it isn't. It's not even the most valuable Mikan card

I could afford a 717.00 card at 14 like you just got. I could buy a 717.00 card now if there was one I wanted badly enough.

If both cards are the same grade the milkin is worth 5 times more

Why would someone grade a Lebron exquisite if it would only get an SGC10?
Think about how little sense your post made.

Re: THE MOST VALUABLE CARD

It's still worth more in the same grade. And if you judge the most valuable card by the highest selling one of all time, it would also be the mikan.

::facepalm:: Actually it makes perfect sence if you can read. But I guess I'll dumb it down a bit. If both the milkin and the lebron were graded and both cards received identical grades the milkin is worth much more. ie. both cards graded mint or both cards graded gem the milkin is much more valueable.

first of all, youre clueless about the sell prices of basketball cards
second, you are acting like a SGC10 is the best grade SGC gives like a BGS 10
third, you are acting like your SGC10, which you know just sold for 717 is the same as the PSA10 that sold for 218k

Re: THE MOST VALUABLE CARD

Low grade cards are great for collecting - often called collector grade. If it was ultra rare like a t206 Wagner then it would be Huge $ in any grade but the Milkan is not that rare. Hence it will never go up as much as you think. When you come on here bragging about your MOST VALUABLE CARD you come off as an immature 14 year old. Sorry
