I doubt it would be worth much more as George Mikan is losing respect in the Basketball world and is not even mentioned in a conversation of great NBA players. Whatever you make will probably be negated by inflation.

Investing in a Wilt Chamberlain RC, on the other hand, wouldn't be too bad of an idea.

I approve of your sig. especially the bold name.

Ok. To make things easier to compare (psa 10 of such a vintage card is really tough) if they were both psa 8 then Lebron wins anyday.

I just picked up THE 1948 Bowman George Mikan rookie card in SGC 10. It is the most valuable basketball card in the world. I have my own predictions but any ideas on how much it might be worth if I sell it in 30 years? Thanks

No it isn't. It's not even the most valuable Mikan card

I actually do have a wilt chamberlain RC as well, and I'm sending it in to SGC soon.

Low grade cards are great for collecting - often called collector grade. If it was ultra rare like a t206 Wagner then it would be Huge $ in any grade but the Milkan is not that rare. Hence it will never go up as much as you think. When you come on here bragging about your MOST VALUABLE CARD you come off as an immature 14 year old. Sorry

I don't really care about modern cards, because they need autos and stuff to make 'em look good. In my world, Mikan is most valuable. Not mine, (it's probaby the least valuable mikan RC) but I'm pretty sure my collection is better than yours was after 1 1/2 years of collecting. You are pretty immature to comment on my posy by saying I was bragging, when I was trying to get opinions because that's what I thought this board was about. Just let me be proud of the card I got and focus on your own collection.

no one is saying your collection is not good, matter of fact it is very nice..especially your baseball cards...but when you say its the most valuable card in basketball people are going to jump on you about that..especially when i see close to 5 cards a night that end higher than what that card sells for.

I never said anything bad about your collection just about your attitude and how you come off on a message board. You have no idea what i have and i bought it all with my own money.

You were trying to brag and show off to me saying you have cards at 14 that I didnt have at that age or have now.
You're wrong on both accounts, but its still bragging. Be proud of your own collection but stop acting like its the best out there. Its not even the best in this thread. I know of 2 of them much better than both of ours put together several times over.

Re: THE MOST VALUABLE CARD

You guys are pathetic. Let the kid enjoy his cards. Everytime he posts his pickups people mess with him. At least his cards will hold value and are investments. Why not point out that 90% of the maildays and pickups by other members will be worthless in 10 years?

umm im pretty sure if anybody were to go on the baseball boards and post a card they bought for 700 dollars and announced it as "the most valuable card in the entire world" than they would get laughed at as well and it doesnt matter who the OP is....and i find it funny that you have the ability to predict what will be worthless in ten years
