It seems like yesterday that I met Jeff Novell in Clearwater to watch our most coveted prospect from 2002 Bowman Chrome, Mr. Cole Hamels. It doesn't seem too long ago that I took a detour on my road trip to NYC to hit up a Jacksonville start by Chad Billingsley in which he was shelled.
Today they are two of the very best young pitchers in baseball, dueling it out in Philadelphia, and Chad is trying to show Cole that he would like to join his company by also earning a World Series MVP trophy one day.
Through 4 IP, the score is tied 1-1, both have 5Ks. Cole's run allowed was unearned. He has yielded 5 hits to Billingsley's 3.
Great game thus far.
