I can't stand this style of play from the A's- tons of so called utility guys all over the field and move them around every game & in & out of the lineup. You need chemistry in baseball & it's hard to get guys hot when there in and out of the lineup every other game & playing a different position every night. Its nice to have depth to give your guys days off, and maybe mix in guys at DH but I don't like it. Lowrie has been good at SS all season now they want to throw him in at 2B and put Rosales at SS and what happens? Huge error in the 9th on a DP ball. Why not just put Rosales at 2B??? Why do we need to move everyone around..... We get it these guys can play different positions, doesn't mean we need to move them around every game.... Tomorrow well prob have Rosales at 3B, lowrie back at SS, and sogard at 2B. & why the hell is Casper Wells even on our roster let alone starting in LF????

Faced a lefty on Friday and a righty today.
Many teams would have a different lineup. Plus it was a 4:00 PM start after a night game

Pitching and one of the most powerful lineups for 2/3 of the year. They did as much platooning last year. 1B, OF, DH and C were entirely platoons. Right now, terrible pitching by Parker and BA are the problem.

Last year was more out of necessity, this year they actually built there team around the concept of super utility & versatile players & got rid of some good players that were not in the process.

I don't like it no matter how you try to convince me otherwise.

I understand giving guys a day off and getting other guys in the lineup, but you can't have a new lineup & different guys all over the field every game.

& another point I was trying to make was why did they move lowrie to 2B for one game and have Rosales at SS then flip flop them the next day???? Stupid

Defending AL Manager of the Year might have some clue what he's doing.

We'll see how it works out, but like I said I don't like it & I don't think it works in baseball. I've played baseball my whole life through college & I know a whole lot about baseball. There's a reason they were good last year because the had chemistry and bonded together. Inge gone, Gomes gone, Weeks down in AAA I haven't seen no Bernie leaning no emotion yet this season. They need that spark & that swagger back. Hard to get that chemistry going with new guys in & out.

Bernie lean thing is done. It was a last year 'thing.' Platooning is not the the problem. Cespedes being hurt (he's back now) and Reddick being putrid at the plate is the issue. Smith, Crisp, Donaldson, Moss, Lowrie have been great so far. Platooning isn't hurting them at all.

Inge and Gomes being gone hasn't hurt them at all. Donaldson is their 3B now so Inge wouldn't have played and Young is much better than Gomes. And Weeks is awful. McCarthy has been a bigger loss with the pitching woes so far.

I wasn't saying those guys were better than anyone we have know, I was making a point of how all those players came together at the right time and all meshed together. they had chemistry last year with all those guys and we haven't got that kind of chemistry going this season and its hard to do that with a new lineup every game.

& those guys you mentioned
Donaldson, Moss, Lowrie, Crisp, shouldn't even be part of a platoon that's my whole point why even take them out.

Let Smith & young get DH reps & mix them in the outfield every once in a while.
