The A's are leading MLB in runs scored and walks, and are 4th in OPS. I hope they keep this "chemistry" going all season.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. The A's lead MLB in runs scored, so I don't see the platoon as the cause of their recent struggles.

+1. The problem is the starting pitching. Pretty simple really.

You guys are completely missing his point. You could pull random names out of a hat and have a great April. Baseball is a marathon and not a sprint and I agree with the OP. If you want to have a good team all season long the players need to have a firm grasp on what their role is and need to know what to expect when they get to the park every day.

I doubt they do this all season. It's probably just to find out what they have and then things will settle themselves with player performance and injuries.

When your pitching averages 8 runs against, it really doesn't matter if they move Crisp to first and sogard into the cleanup spot. They aren't going to be winning games.

Any A's fan knows that the A's strength is in their depth backed by their pitching. Even when they won 9 in a row, I can't think of a single back-to-back game they played with the same lineup. The real difference was that they weren't down 5 runs in the third inning. In fact they averaged less than 3 runs against per game.

Also, if you are really an A's fan, you shouldn't really care what happens in the first half, especially a 10-game span. They have always been a post-All star break team.

The season is young, their pitching will turn around and once it does, the A's will be unstoppable. I'd wait to be concerned.

The A's players DO have a firm grasp on their roles. They know who will be playing against right-handed pitching and who will be playing against left-handed pitching. The A's are getting great production from their offense because management puts them in the best possible position to succeed. Beane has constructed an offense that puts up elite production at a fraction of the price by taking advantage of a market inefficiency and correctly using his players.

Casper Wells traded to the white sox for cash:lol:::facepalm:::benson: what was that like 1 week??? well at least makes more room for the others now.

for what its worth I like tonight's lineup and id have C. young and seth smith rotating in at DH and in the outfield every once in a while. 2B just sucks so doesn't even matter who plays there Weeks still the best option IMO but they're all about the same

As an A's fan, I disagreed with ALOT of their moves over the last Coupla years, but I do have renewed faith in the Front Office and Manager after last year.

Going into Last season, I worried they'd threaten the record for Fewest Runs scored, and then thought it was a "Magical" season that they could not ever repeat this year, but here they are beating up the Angels and the third best record in Baseball.

And after doubting Cespedes would be that big deal when they signed him, he's their best player. Heck, their Starters have been pretty awful so far and they've survived just fine.

I still disagree with trading Suzuki but other than that, I can't find anything to disagree with, including the overall plan for platooning most of the team...
