Seems like a classy gesture. Is anyone concerned about the fact they are doing this when the Dodgers are in town? I know they are the first team coming, but I'd be worried for any Dodgers fans who show up.

Hopefully there will be an equal show of support from the Dodgers owners and team and the fans will behave. Plus I would assume security will be better than it was that night in LA.

nice gesture by the Gigantes. It would have been nice if the Dodgers had stepped up with support for this dude first and made a strong statement against this reprehensible behavior. There's no way I'd step foot in the Phone Booth for the upcoming series, at least not wearing any of my Dodger gear. You can be sure that there will be at least one Giant "fan"/hooligan who will be looking for a little retribution. Fan is in quotes because I don't believe for a second that any violent ****** follower of any particular team is indicative of the mindset of the whole fan base.

That was terrible what happened to those Giants fans, especially the one who landed in the ICU. I used to see similar brew-haha's walking down the back alleys of Fenway Park leading to my car just after the Yankees/Sox games. Sports fans just get really too crazy sometimes about their team. Causing unprovoked bodily injury to an opposing fan is completely inappropriate. Of course, I am in favor of self-defense but it doesn't appear that this was the case.

have the dodgers made any public statements about this incident?

"The Dodgers organization would like to ask all Phillies fans to refrain from wearing Dodgers clothing in the future."

I still can't believe this happened somewhere that wasn't Philadelphia.
