This year's "giveaway" is pure rubbish compared to last year. As usual, Topps follows up something cool with garbage. Digital coins? Wow, that's fun to collect for about .0001 second. I entered the three codes I got from my blaster and will enter no more.

Has anyone unlocked 200 coins this afternoon and received a message about winning a complete set? I unlocked over 200 by around 5pm EST, and didn't receive a message. I know I was probably too late, but here's to hoping.

Also, this enigmatic language is on the "How it Works" page: "To make the Golden Giveaway even more fun and to reward those that unlock codes quickly the first 100 people to unlock 200 unique coins will automatically win a 1/1 Topps Series 1 card embedded with a 14K piece of gold, the subject of card will be random."

To me, it looks like there are only 90 unique coins. I suppose they might have meant "unique items," so you could have any combo of unique coins and cards. It seems odd though that this 1/1 promotion is buried in the fine print, but there is no mention of the complete set prize mentioned on the front page. My guess is that they used an old version of the fine print, from before they abandoned a 1/1 prize idea.

I don't think you are too late. I have entered well over 200 myself. There have only been 5 different gold die-cut cards unlocked. They are supposed to be 1:200. You would think that if more than 100 people have accomplished this task, not to mention all the extras that have been unlocked... that there would have been more than 5 different gold cards unlocked. Just my opinion. I guess we'll find out in the next couple weeks. Here's to hoping we are in!

Unfortunately, the $10 codes are not really e-giftcards, but coupons. Topps only lets you use one per order. So basically, unless you are ordering more than $75 of stuff it really only partially pays for the shipping.
