he could be annoying at times.....but he has pretty much been the voice of football....gonna miss him.

i loved madden as a commentator, he brought such a simplicity to the game... kinda like listenin to your grandpa talk about football, just a lot of fun imo. I'll sorely miss him, now we get more gumbles or more kornheisers..yay.

You are spot on here. I might know more than Madden about football, but I love him as a commentator. I will miss him big time.
And Kornheiser is the single worst announcer I've ever listened to. I used to love him on PTI, but his horrible failure in announcing has ruined the show for me.

As soon as I heard him talking about Favre in a game between two teams other than the Jets and Packers, I gave up hope.

Glad to see him go because he was somewhat annoying and rambled on too much, but I'm not glad to see his replacement. Much like in the video game where Collinsworth took Madden's job over. Yes, I found Madden annoying and uninformative at points, often questioning what the hell he was trying to say, but I could still laugh at him and shake my head just enough to deal with him. I just want to punch Collinsworth in the face. Just my opinion. I do admit he did alot for the sport of football though, and love the video game that bears his name.
