Good morning!

Congrats Frenchie on your winning design.

Alex, glad to see you received the cards.

The beast, (1988 Grand Wagoneer Jeep) needs new rear brakes, off to Rhinelander to find some parts, and pick-up a patio screen door for the new house that I had to order.

Everyone enjoy your Friday Fish Fry tonight.

Thanks everyone for the kind words; turns out, it might even be better than expected. But more on that later, I don't want to jinx it!!

haven't bought many baseball items for awhile. May get a Carew gu from the lcs if I can get a deal on it.

Sooooo tempted to buy some Archives packs, but going to try to resist. I am a sucker for oncard, old school players' autographs on old design cards, though....

Alright, my Florida vacation post:

So I spent a total of 11 days in Florida. The first 7 were with extended family (mine, plus brother-in law's, and grandparents). We had a beautiful five bedroom rental house with pool and hot tub, so we all did a lot of pool time. We did one day at Magic Kindom, one at Seaworld and one at Gatorland. We also did one day at Cocoa Beach (swim in Atlantic, visit to Ron Jon Surf Shop, and seafood dinner), and one at the best beach I've ever been to, Fort Desoto Beach on the Gulf of Mexico in St. Petersburg. That beach had gentle waves, white sands, dolphins swimming nearby, and was just perfect.

My family flew back, but I stayed four more days since the president of the company I work for has 3 businesses in Florida, and I went around with him photographing and taking video of them. One is a sporting clays gun club and the other two are marinas for yachts. My days were pretty filled, but I did manage to go to some beach and nature parks in the area, as well as visit the Loggerhead Marinelife Center, which is a turtle rescue facility. That was really cool. I was supposed to go deep sea fishing my last day but got rained out. So instead I spent a few hours at Orlando South Sportscards rummaging through singles boxes, but not finding much. I spent a whopping $5 on three cards there. I also found cards in this one weird shopping center in a shop that sold knives and sportscards. Don't think the proprieter knew much about the cards, I found the Cashner Bowman Chrome Orange #/25 for $2, and he threw in the Bagwell RBI Parallel #/120 for free! I think the Cashner is a $40-$50 card.

I went to bed lat this morning and got up early, for a great cause. I got to go shopping for the stuff we needed for our Annual Veterans Picnic tomorrow our union throws for them. Well we budgeted up to 500 for (50 veterans and some family) plus the people who come out to help us.........Well, I and my co-chair did it all for around 350:D

So now we have some funds left over to give to the Veterans for future events they want to do. Also we were at a store and told them why we were buying so much of stuff. Plates and forks knives and other things needed. When the manager of the store said he would give us most of what we bought for free. :o I was actually was moved to tears as this guy told me his father was a WWII veterans (passed) 2 years ago and his nephew was killed in Irag in the same year as his father passed away! He showed us a photo of both of them he had in his wallet. Before we left I had to hug the guy just so I would stop crying......Oh and if he can make it....he is going to drive about 1 and half hours put to help us and then drive the hour and a half back to make it to work later in the day.
I'll post pictures tomorrow of everyone there so you guys can see what I and some of my fellow brothers and sister of UAW Local 145 do for our Veterans

Sorry for the long read I just wanted to stop in and say hey today since I'm flying around, but having a great time doing this today.

That's fantastic! Both you and the store manager deserve kudos for donating your time and resources to a great cause. Both my grandpa's were WWII vetrans, and we all definitely owe those men a debt of gratitude.

Thank you sir. And yes I agree WWII and Korea Vets are an era that is rapidly going away. So I am making it a personal campaign to meet and talk to as many as I can......when ever I can.

Ok I need to go make another run to a store(s) for another project I (we) on here have going ;)

Thanks guys, here's what I submitted:

"Since Bowman Sterling is by definition the high-end brand for rookies and prospects, how about a "Next In Line" insert? The set would be 30 cards deep, one for each team, and would feature a rookie and an upcoming prospect for that team. For example: Banuelos/Bichette Jr for the Yankees, Harper/Rendon for the Nationals, and so on and so forth. You could have regular, GU'ed and AU'ed version of the card, declined in colored refractors too."

Congrats! Sounds kind of familar, especially to what UD Hockey did in 93-94:
