Rodney Harrison, perhaps the dirtiest player of the last 15 years is retiring. I don't think any of the opposing players will do anything but Cheer!

What a dirty $%^&! he was. Even his teammates didn't defend some of his actions and quotes.

His worst was the hit that knocked Trent Greeen out for the year, and it was a Preseason game, in what turned out to be the Rams Super Bowl year.

I was glad he was the defender when Tyree made "Reception to end Perfection". Maybe it was karma. Anyway, good riddance and enjoy the over-crowded NBC studio!

One of the classiest and beloved players in Patriots history. He'll be missed. I pity the fact that you never got a chance to enjoy his greatness.

I remember him being called ROIDney Harrison on the old BMB. Never hated him or really liked him but the dude could play, no doubt.

I doubt the Rams would have made it with Green anyway, just my opinion.

Harrison is one of the best Safeties of alltime. I am a Rams fan, and I don't mind the Trent Green injury. Opened the door for the great one!

Do me a favor and name another player to have 30 sacks and 30 interceptions over a career. Thanks.

Yeah, it's tough to see greatness in a guy who twisted the knife in your back with that INT-TD in the AFC championship blowout.

Rodney Harrison could cover a little bit, that seperates him from Roy Williams! Roy Williams is garbage. Rodney Harrison was an extra linebacker against the run, and people forget how great he was in SD! Those were his great years, don't judge him only on the NE years.

Thank god he made one play but that was one score. Steelers still lose with or without that play...Rookie QB went 14-1. Bad time for #2. Brady picked a bad time for #1 in 07.... Imagine if the Steelers would have won. Hot Damn! They would have won 3 instead of 2 Superbowls since the Pats won thier last.. Rodney Harrison is a punk cheating roid head. Roids are proven to help recover from injury. He is a cheater and will not smell the hall

Dude, that's the last argument you should bring up. By your logic, Terry Bradshaw (among MANY others) shouldn't have a chance at the HOF.

30 INT- 30 Sacks.
2 Rings.
“Rodney Harrison is one of the best players I have ever coached. In the biggest games, in any situation and on a weekly basis, his production was phenomenal. Rodney is the best practice player I have seen in 35 years in the NFL, which is a testament to his exceptional passion for the game and his desire to sustain and improve his level of play. Regardless of his status on the team and in the league, Rodney’s approach to preparation spoke volumes about his devotion to the team and his ability to raise every player’s game. Rodney embodies all the attributes coaches seek and appreciate – toughness, competitiveness, leadership, selflessness, hard work, intensity, professionalism – and coming from Rodney, they are contagious. I am honored to have coached Rodney Harrison and am grateful for his significant impact on my career and the success of the New England Patriots."
-Bill Belichick
I know you hate him, and I'm sure a lot of others do (especially Steelers fans). But it is absolutely ignorant to deny that he was an absolutely fantastic football player.

Too bad this ****** is going to be announcing on NBC (I think it was NBC). Regarless where, it's some network. Dirty player who gets no respect, I don't care how good he was. belichick is a rule breaker too, so his opinion on Harrison means nothing to me.

With that logic Dexter Jackson, Larry Brown, and countless other Super Bowl heroes are great. They're not. They just had a good game in the national spotlight. It's not meant to take away from their achievements in game, it's just saying that they're not a great player or HOF player because of it.
