George I am inclining to agree with you on a few, but some of them I do not feel it would be worth it. I have been made an offer on a bulk of them, and on all of them. Also, a decent offer on two of them. I am going to send you a pm, want your opinion on something.

Morning people. Looks like it will be a "rainy, slushy" day here. It's been 1 hell of a week, and my house is a disaster. Today will consist of card sorting, house cleaning, laundry, sorting cards, scanning cards, etc, etc.

Richard, did you ever post up scans of what you got for your SS?

I would love to write a book just like it, just on the MLB. The section of the book I have been MOST looking forward to is where I have just reached in the book, the basic reworking of the NBA Hall of Fame and breaking it down into different levels of a Pyramid. It's a lot easier with the NBA, because it's Hall of Fame is about 90% based on stats, which dictates how great a player truly is. Unlike, oh, I don't know, popularity with the fans/press, ability to hold a press conference or how they are as a person outside of the sport (unlike the baseball HOF voting, which takes into account ALL of that, plus stats and more).

I plan on locating and purchasing as many books about the history of the game, individual players, seasons, stats, etc. for the MLB, plus buying as much video I can of the MLB and going from there. And since I will have a solid 12-13 months in Afghanistan with a ton of open time (when you are not at "work", you know there is a lot of free time) it will give me something to keep my mind clear and keep me focused.

Plus, I really and truly love the game of baseball and the history of the game has always intrigued me.

I would like to start it off as a blog, but could possibly see eventually turning it into a book. I love to write, had a pretty natural touch in high school and college when it came to English and writing classes and would love to write a book or ninety-five in my lifetime.

Not that anyone gives a poop but i'm going to scan my danny duffy collection tonight. All 600 cards (kidding) I'm probably not going to scan the 500 base chrome.

Anyone that has the super or red bowman sterling or can get me to it will have something very good coming their direction.

Dave, I will never understand why Hockey teams choose to fired Head Coaches so early in the Season, ie Barry Melrose last year. Seems to be counter-productive for a year long plan.

me neither George and with the Flyers it wasn't the coaches fault at all. there are a lot of bad things going on in the locker room and rumors of one player cheating with another player's wife. there will no doubt be a lot more changes coming in Philly.

I however hope none of the changes help :evil: :twisted: .

George - Wasn't that on MLB Network just the other night? Funny story about MLB Network. I was wishing we had it because of all the historical shows they have on there like the Ken Burns Baseball offering. Last night I'm flipping through the 200's on the cable box and guess what? We get the MLB Network! I mentioned it to my wife and she casually says "Oh yeah, I had some channels added to our package. I guess that's one of them." ::facepalm:: Oh well, at least now there will never be nothin' to watch on TV!

Dave, not really sure yet how many there are. I'm stil sorting what I have and need apart, but I think there's about 1,000 or more. He sent me just about every Piazza card he had I think. I'm seeing that some of the cards we agreed on are not here, but there's alot of cards that we didn't agree to trade in the box. The "problem" is, there were a couple of big cards I wanted and didn't get. EX: 96 Zenith Diamond Club parrallel BV $50, got the reg Diamond Club card, and a 97 Pinnacle Cerified Mirror Gold Team, BV $100(didn't get at all). That's just a couple of cards that I didn't get or were the wrong card.

So I'm kinda at a loss right now as to what to do about it. :?
