right or wrong, convicted or not, the point is that these things are giving the nfl a black eye and that is what goodell is trying to prevent. in my job, anything that would cause the smallest of negative press is automatic termination, so i see his point.

I agree. Goodell is big on protecting the image of the NFL and making sure that league does not lose any potential revenue for bad press.

The way this has all played out seems to make it highly likely that there are facts and/or more past indiscretions that we are unaware of.

Personally I haven't really had a problem with what Goodell's done - I'd be more worried about Pittsburgh and their vow to instill a one-strike and your out policy with their guys. Seems a bit harsh, as every situation is different and may not warrant that - especially if it's something you can help the person through and make them a better person in the process. At least the NFL looks at each situation individually (and unless its something insanely severe) and seems to be giving more than a couple chances before really putting their foot down.

Do you guys think that if any of the details had not been released (or testimony from the females) that this would've happened? There was some pretty compelling stuff.
