'I'm meant to be alive': How Drew Robinson is learning to live
After dealing with depression and self-doubt for years, Drew Robinson reached a crisis point in April 2020. But what was almost the end of his story turned out to be the start of another.
This was by far the most inspiring and heartfelt story I've read in a long time. I actually met Drew in 2012 when he was a member of the Hickory Crawdads. He was on the same club as highly touted prospects Rougned Odor, Luis Sardinas, Jorge Alfaro, Luke Jackson, Will Lamb, Nick Martinez, and Hanser Alberto. I recall Drew being very nice and cordial when asked for an autograph.
Reading this story made me tear, man. I know of five people who've committed suicide and plenty more who've thought about it. As the article notes, it's okay to not be okay. Life has many twists and turns. We all can't go through it alone.
