As I've been reorganizing my old and new stuff lately, I've come across some cards that made me pause. Some of these look great to me, but really don't sell for much. We all know about Crusades and some of the really rare 90s stuff that people still pay big bucks for, but there's some old and new stuff that doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Maybe the print run was too high or they just didn't catch on, but here's some stuff I like that can be had quite reasonably.
The futuristic and psycadelic stuff. I can't get scans to do these justice, but they look puurrrdy.
Love the 2011 diamond parallels. Gorgeous cards, but still affordable for the little guy. The slideshow didn't scan well, but it's pretty cool in my opinion and very different from anything out there today. Rediculous die cut anyone? and in base cards no less. Nothing secret about these, but I like them.
The O'Neill was probably one of the coolest cards I came across while sorting. It really pops in your hand. I also like some of the other metal cards. The Leaf Steel stuff is really heavy. I also love the Production Line 1998 insert. Despite being relatively low numbered for a 90s insert, they still don't sell for much. The other Piazza is a Donruss Collections Prized Collection card. It's basically a refractor, but I like it. I guess that product really never caught on. Those parallels can be really rare (stated print run of 55 on that Piazza if I remember correctly) but they still don't sell all that well.
On the vintage side, I've always thought T202s were really cool. Compared to other tobacco cards of the era, however, they don't sell as well for the same players.
I'd love to see some other sweet looking cards that won't break the bank.
