Had my recent purchases from COMC shipped the other day. Was in for a little shocker when my shipping total came to $34.35 for the "standard" shipping for 104 cards. Sure...I could have shipped using their "bulk" option, but for a savings of $9 there was no way I was going to ship thousands of $$$ worth of cards w/out even penny sleeves to protect them.

A knock on the door this afternoon to sign for this package shipped via USPS Express

While I still don't like the fact that they charged me nearly $35 for shipping, atleast they used most of that $35 towards actual shipping rather than just keeping the change. Excellent job of packaging too!

you do realize that the shipping amounts to .33¢ per card, right?

buy 104 cards from DIFFERENT sellers on ebay, and let us know how you do.

To the OP...You could have saved 9.00 but you chose not to

exactly. try finding those 104 from the same seller as well (which is what COMC represents - one seller). COMC is doing things right.

not busting the OP's balls though. very nice haul and congrats on finding all those cards that you needed!

Sure then go to your local PO and see a priority mail flat rate box for 10.95 that would fit these and then some. Then tell the sellers who are paying a monthly fee along with 20% if they want money that there fees are awesome.

I'm still trying to figure out if there's another meaning to this post that I don't see.

Chad, I always view the fee as more of a service fee than a shipping price. I mean, they've got to organize, catalog, find, secure, and ship thousands of cards daily. That doesn't come without a lot of time and money spent.

I agree Ross, but I still think overall that the shipping prices are high if buying in bulk. I think there should be a cap...say $20 or something if the cards will fit in a 400ct box or whatever it was. The box that they shipped me could have been shipped w/out being in the larger Express box for what....$5?

This thread wasn't meant to bash them on their shipping costs though, it was about them going the extra mile & upgrading my shipment to Express w/out paying the $105 or whatever it was they would normally charge. I was impressed w/ the care they packaged the cards in, & the free upgrade.

Considering this is coming from a single seller, the s/h is crazy expensive. But its part of the profit model they choose to use.

People usually think Burbank's expensive, but the most you'll pay there in s/h is $2.00 regardless of how many you get, but $50+ orders are free.

There is, why would he complain about the shipping charge BUT then choose not to take the 9.00 off. Jerk offs. ::facepalm::

Hi, my name is Jeremy and I work for Check Out My Cards.
Cobra29svt, I'm glad that you were pleased with our shipping quality. We try to treat every package with care and respect, since we're collectors too. We know what a horrible feeling it is to get something in the mail that was packaged without any thoughtfulness. When we saw what you had bought, upgrading your package to Express was the natural thing to do. Everything we ship has a complimentary delivery confirmation upgrade, but we felt a signature was appropriate when shipping so many valuable cards.

To anyone who has ever bought from us and been dissatisfied with the card's condition, please remember that COMC has a 7-day no-questions-asked return policy. Even if the card has nothing wrong with it and you just change your mind, send it back within 7 days of when you received it and we'll give you a full refund. We know that buying online will never be as safe as real life, but we want to come as close as possible to it.
Thanks,

-J
